Yes and somewhat prophetically, the Jays who had the most runners LOB in this game were Morales (4) and Tulowitzki (5). Everyone focuses on who should be hitting 1-4 in the batting order, BUT if you have stiffs in those 5 and 6 holes, it really does lead to the kind of ineptitude we have been seeing too much of lately.
I think the key question is what type of makeover will happen. My guess is that for business reasons, the Jays will attempt to do a 'quick retool'. With some luck they could again be a wild card contender in 2018.
Yeah BUT Boston went 6 for 23 with RISP (.261) versus Toronto's 2 for 7 (.286). When you consider how many base runners that Boston squandered, the Jays were actually lucky to make it to the 11th inning.
Overall, I again see the problem that the Jays' offense put up a crooked number, then went comatose. In this case only 1 run in 10 innings after the 1st inning outburst.
