  1. 68 days until Spring Training! There have been four players to wear #68 in Toronto, but none more notable than recently departed closer Jordan Romano, who wore the number from 2019-2024.
  2. Tucker missed half a season this past year, but there wasn't a huge difference between Soto/Tucker from 2021-2023
  3. I'm pretty ok with the Yanks dumping a bunch of money into Fried and Bellinger this off season
  4. 69 days until Spring Training, nice! #69 has been worn by two Blue Jays their history, RHP Peter Munro in 1999, and lefty Tommy Milone in 2021. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/news/uniform-numbers-69-nationals-aj-cole-bronson-arroyo-alan-mills-jordy-mercer-eric-fryer-peter-munro/w4hww96ogi821es8gugiguijo 'The rationale and history behind wearing '69' on your MLB uniform'
  5. He's definitely open to the possible existence of a universe wherein an occurence of that nature has some level of hypothetical probability - what more can we really ask?
  6. 70 days until Spring Training! #70 has been worn by three different Blue Jays in their debut season, including the carjacker Reese McGuire.
  7. Burnes plane is already heading north, don't even worry about it
  8. In 2028, the Yankees will be paying 91M for Cole (37), Rodon (35) and Fried (34), with their respective ages that year in parentheses
  9. I guess there's a glass half full or half empty way of looking at this trade. If you think Gimenez is a noodle bat, it's going to be underwhelming at best. But that's overlooking the ceiling he's shown (not potential, actual performance). At age 23, just two seasons ago, he produced a season as great as the very best ever by a Jays middle infielder. Right up there with Alomar's best seasons and better than Bo's very best year. He doesn't need to get all the way back to that level in order to produce surplus value. It's a risk- reward play that could actually turn out marvelously.
  10. 71 days until Spring Training opens! #71 has been worn by two Blue Jays, Luis Santos (2018) and former first rounder TJ Zeuch the following year.
  11. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Gimenez 2022 season would rank as the third or fourth best season ever by a Blue Jays middle infielder. Would be behind Semien (2021) and Alomar (1992) but right in line with Alomar in '93, ahead of Bo's best season in 2021 and Aaron Hill in 2009....
  12. Just click the X button, you're fine
  13. Rojas was still arb eligible when non tendered and only projected for 4M
  14. Small sample but his work at SS has produced strong results
  15. Seems like he has played exclusively in RF, maybe a switch to LF would help his defensive grades
  16. 72 seems to be nearly exclusively used as a rookie number, only three players in history have worn it for more than one season. Cubs RHP Javier Assad for the last three seasons and Rays righty Yonny Chirinos for his five years with the club being two of them. The number obviously belongs to its long most tenured player though. Legendary catcher Carlton Fisk switched to #72 upon joining the White Sox in 1981, and wore it for thirteen seasons until retiring at age 45.
  17. 72 Days until Spring Training! #72 has only been worn by Otto Lopez (2021) and Beau Taylor (2019) in Toronto.
  18. I liked the idea of upgrading the spot when there were clear upgrades available, but now maybe it's better to roll with the min. cost option there and spend those couple/few million towards other help.
  19. Maybe they feel Heineman can be above replacement level in a full season as backup, on the back of his defense. We surely would still need more depth at the position though. Kirk has never started more than 90 games behind the plate or completed more than 80. It doesn't seem safe to assume his backup will be seeing less than 60 games.
  20. I think I read that the Dodgers signed Gallegos to a minor league deal, because I recall thinking those f***ers will probably get a huge bounceback from him
  21. We need a closer and a good lefty reliever, those two along with Swanson and Green can be our back end at least to start the year . Sign some risk/reward guys to hopefully push them. Cheapest area to add talent through the year if the team is worth adding to.
  22. Read that Martin is only pitching one more year and would prefer to stay close to home in Texas, but point still stands for other similar options
