  1. 76 at Coors and 44 on the road
  2. Jake Bloss made his debut for the Bisons tonight. He went 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits (one being a bunt single) and one walk with a couple K's. Threw 32/50 pitches for strikes and was pulled due to a pitch count limit.
  3. Read that teams were enquiring on Brett Baty at the deadline as well, I wonder if the Jays were among them.
  4. Now down Ryan and Paddack, what are they left with for starters? Lopez, Ober, SWR, Festa, Varland? Their depth will be tested
  5. Another big game and he's now slashing .377/.459/.811 in 14 games since the AS break. Oddly enough, he's also more than doubled his career stolen base total. He had 11 career SB entering this season, but he's 12/13 on steal attempts this year after going 11/23 in his first seven seasons.
  6. Joe Ryan left his start today with tricep soreness in his pitching shoulder, after just 33 pitches across two innings. That will be a massive blow to the Twins if he's going to miss time.
  7. Matt Chapman enjoyed his best month of the season in July (.239/.368/.455) and now has homered in three straight games at the start of August.
  8. Vintage robbery by Superman
  9. It will be interesting to see if this turns out to be a breakout season or an outlier for Brenton Doyle. Elite CF defender but he has a shot at a 30/30 season (currently 18/21) and is slashing .272/.334/.479. His K rate (25.5%) is below 30% for the first time since his partial season of rookie ball after signing in 2019
  10. What, you think it's a bad idea to call up the 18 year old with a 34% K rate and sub .300 OBP in A ball?
  11. And on the other end, it's his former employer (Friedman) giving KK a shot to play on a contender to round out his last season
  12. Yarborough makes 3.9M, that should get us plenty under the threshold?
  13. Bassitt probably
  14. Jay Harry - 2023 6th rounder out of Penn State, strong pro debut with the bat after signing last year, not so much this year at HiA. Has played SS/2B/3B and all three OF spots as a pro.
  15. Mark Leiter Jr to the Yanks
  16. Just turned 23 and only has 48 innings of AA/AAA experience, definitely would rather give him more time and roll out some gas can if needed for now
  17. I have been the high guy on Jack Flaherty around here throughout his career but I'd be very ok with him as a (cheaper) alternative to Burnes if we miss on him. Bring back Kikuchi to complete the coup over Houston and you have a solid veteran four with competition for a 5th spot. Flaherty, Gausman, Berrios, Kikuchi, Bloss/Francis (sell Bassitt while the market is hot)

  19. Looks like three of his four starts with Buffalo have not gone well...
