  1. Hey my virtue signalling hypocritical rant applied to you too, quit stirring the damn pot lol
  2. All the more reason to go get him
  3. @Brock Beauchampdo you intend to make separate discussion threads for each Jays player (and for each [notable] prospect in the applicable section)? Always preferred that style of formatting myself, everything in it's own separate thread. I believe they call it OCD
  4. Definitely a big part of the appeal on Flaherty
  5. I won best new poster and then never lived up to my potential
  6. It's a new forum and almost a new year. Not directing at anyone in particular, but can everyone at least attempt to turn over a new leaf and stop with the constant bickering? We are all too old for the stress, nearly all of you are likely good dudes at your core - be kinder to eachother for Pete's sake.. Everything with this new forum seems to function much better. Let's try to show some gratitude and not drive new posters away by filling every thread with needless bickering over old rivalries. I rarely say s*** about it but it was getting out of hand on the old board and now starts up here on day one. Just let it go and have this place start up under better vibes. Happy new years!
  7. Made with the free Twitter (X) AI function (Grok)
  8. 51 days until Spring Training! #51 has been worn by eighteen Blue Jays in franchise history, the most tenured being former Rays batboy and Jays starter.....Jesse Litsch!
  9. This isn't where I parked my car

  10. 52 days until Spring Training! #52 has been worn by fourteen Blue Jays over the years, including closer BJ Ryan
  11. 53 days until Spring Training! #53 has been worn by eleven different Blue Jays, the first being righty Dennis Lamp, who went 11-0 for the Jays back in 1985.
  12. It's nothing to do with nostalgia, don't be such a dumbass casual. As already stated, Grichuk happens to be one of the better hitters in baseball against left handed pitching for consecutive seasons, and the Jays have struggled badly against lefties. Therefore should be a fairly cheap way to improve the team's depth, common sense. I guess there's two different mindsets after missing out on the top free agents. Some want to have a realistic discussion about what's still out there and could be a fit, others just want to be irrationally angry.
  13. Flaherty having resurrected his value after a one year deal last off season, is probably the last type of guy who should be leaving money on the table. Meaning our approach of offering the biggest bag could perhaps finally work out. I wanted to sign him last off season and I still think it would be a decent gamble this year based on how the market has played out. He'll go for roughly mid rotation type money by today's standards, but can continue pitching like a frontline guy
  14. Grichuk is another FA who fits the profile, one of the top lefty mashers in baseball last year
  15. "One of the best players who was non-tendered this offseason, Austin Hays struggled after going from the Orioles to the Phillies at the trade deadline, but he has a solid track record of production. He posted a 109 OPS+ and averaged 32 doubles, 18 home runs, 66 RBI and 2.7 WAR in the three years leading up to the 2024 campaign, and he was an All-Star in 2023. He hit .354/.405/.537 in 90 plate appearances against left-handed pitching in 2024, and he has a .800 OPS for his career against southpaws, so if nothing else, he holds significant platoon appeal." There's so few bats left on the market who have that kind of upside. He's still fairly young, his 2024 was explainable by serious illness and he fields a position (LF) we have open. It seems like a no brainer at this point, likely one of the cheapest potential sources of above average offense.
  16. Gotta be Jack now
  17. 54 days until Spring Training! #54 has been a popular number in Toronto, worn by eighteen different players including some notable names. The most tenured by far was righty Jason Frasor
  18. 2023 All star Austin Hays please
