  1. Kirk was horrendous at the plate last Season and Jansen is made of glass. And yet that’s your likely 5 hole slot that could go to s*** quickly with injury and under performance.
  2. I was looking at some of the Jays lineup concepts people were posting on X today and f*** even with the Turner signing 5-9 looks f***ing gross. RF Springer SS Bo 1B Vlad DH Turner C Jansen/Kirk LF Varsho 2B Biggio/Espinal/Scheneider 3B IKF CF Kiermaier Factor in injuries and I’m not very optimistic this team scores runs this Season. Team is 2 bats away from being a serious contender. And they can’t expect the pitching to stay as healthy. At the very minimum they should be looking for a platoon for Kiermaier and Varsho depending on the matchup. 2B, 3B, LF, and CF could all be offensive black holes.
  3. Matchup related stuff related late in games. It’s nice to be able to break up a string of righties which could potentially alter bullpen decisions. But at the end of the day teams will use their best guys.
  4. I know people are disappointed overall with this off-season. I think we all are. But Justin Turner is a good hitter and has been for a long time. He’s going to help this Lineup a lot. Don’t really think this is the thread to be overly negative in. I prefer they do a deal like this over breaking the bank for players they aren’t in love with such as Chapman, Bellinger and even Soler. Which could all backfire massively. This is one-year deal for a guy who looked like he still has plenty in the tank. It’s not like he’s coming off a down year. His numbers would have either led or been second in most offensive numbers on this team. He’s also done it on the biggest stage
  5. It's really not. Sam Presti is notorious for his unwillingness to unload draft capital and never winning anything. He's been doing it a long time. He also fumbled a dynasty by getting peanuts for James Harden. Which is regarded as one of the worst trades in NBA History.
  6. My hope is the Orioles just turn into the MLB version of the OKC Thunder. Elite farm system do stockpiling draft assets but never succeed at anything because they won't part with any of it.
  7. This isn't even about Whit. I didn't want them to bring back Whit. I wanted a better player in general. IKF being better than Whit is irrelevant. Cause him playing 3B everyday and getting guaranteed money for 2 years sucks in general.
  8. Don’t forget Yimi making 6m. Could have been the difference in giving Chapman a big one year deal to retest the market next year
  9. Whit could actually hit. IKF sucks a metric f*** ton of dick at the plate. Barger is a wild card at this point to impact a Major League roster. He must first accomplish staying healthy. But he’s basically a higher ceiling Biggio, He can play all the Infield positions and corner OF spots,
  10. Not sure if Vlad is good enough to be a cover athlete but I’m happy for him and it’s a good looking cover. Plus they put Jazz Chisholm on the cover last year and he might be the worst cover athlete ot any sports game all time that wasn’t a country exclusive. He’s not even a top 20 OF in Baseball. Bizarre choice. Injuries have really limited him though.
  11. The Biggio hate here is wild. He’s literally a very good extra player. And paying IKF wss f***ing dumb.
  12. I like the signing a proven veteran performer. You can put him somewhere in the middle or the lineup and he will reliably drive in runs.
  13. Polanco would have been a nice get for the Jays. Spring Training around the corner so much work to be done.
  14. Shitbriuk would be hitting cleanup mid season f*** that.
  15. If they are willing to sign this ass clown should have just signed Chapman.
  16. Hoskins is a really good fit for the Brewers. Think he can have a really nice resurgence there and get back on the market next Season. Should also set the market for Soler and Martinez a little more. Both would be fantastic additions.
  17. Mauer first ballot kind of surprised me but Beltre is right although I am surprised he was 95% first ballot. But if you look at his numbers I don’t even think some people understand how good of career he had. I remember when he signed that big deal with Seattle and people were saying its one of the worst contracts ever at the time. Todd Helton is a borderline HOF at best.
  18. Manoah is always going to be big guy. He’s never showing up to camp Kevin Durant slim. My concern is he’s going to be in good enoughshape where is cardio is going to be in a good place with the pitch clock so he can compete and maintain his stuff throughout a full start.
  19. Rosenthal might be reliable source in terms of information. But man he’s a terrible Baseball writer. That piece he wrote on Franco was outrageous. Soler has the most power upside of the remaining free agents. Seems like the safest pick and the Jays badly need someone who can hit Homeruns. They have already lost Chapman and struggled to hit Homers last Season. Unfortunately signing Soler also means IKF is likely our primary Third Baseman. Having a LF and 3B that can’t hit is not ideal.
  20. Garcia, Espinal, and lottery ticket prospect.
  21. Cool than we shouldn’t have money problems since teams are lining up for Yimi and take his salary off our hands. We are in absolute desperate need of 2 bats. And will probably need to overpay for both of them. So every cent counts.
  22. The fact that the Jays are so limited to watch they can spend is exactly why I argued not to have Yimi Garcia option vest making 6 million. Espinal making 2.7 million annoys me as well. Instead we have 18m to find an everyday 3B. Add an Outfielder and a DH. Piss poor asset management. Everyone is saying we can easily trade those guys though. Who wants a middle reliever making 6 million lol.
  23. When Fred Van Vleet left for free in free agency it really opened a lot of eyes in Toronto about not wanting to lose star free agents for nothing. So naturally Bo Bichette came up in a lot of conversations as someone the Jays can’t afford to lose for nothing. That’s where most of these conversations sparked from where I believe.
  24. Big difference between Berrios and Manoah is his track record of success. The underlying numbers weren’t as terrible either. It was clear Jose needed to mix up his sequencing but more than he just wasn’t executing pitches despite showing no decline in stuff. He was leaving way to many pitches in the middle of the plate and he was getting absolutely punished for it. Meanwhile Manoah doesn’t have a track record of success. Performed well above his projected performance. And completely lost all command last Season. People were expecting a regression nobody expected him to completely fall apart and become unusable. I don’t like the comparison because Manoah both lost his command and quality of stuff. His slider went from one of the best pitches in the league to one of the worst. I for one have no idea what were gonna get from Manoah. And that’s kinda scary.
  25. Worth every penny. He doesn’t even need to be the closer he can come in any situation and shut it down. Pressly can continue to be the save merchant.
