I would 100% do a 1YR $18M AAV for him and would re-sign Ray and extend Berrios.
Expensive but worth it imo. And if Pearson proves his worth in AAA as a SP and is ready, you trade one of the Top 5 for a massive return and then promote him.
Sad about Mayza but happy to see Snead back.
Borucki just doesn't look right. Needs to work out kinks and get back in the zone, and better to do that in AAA. Hopefully he can string together a few appearances in a row with no walks and lots of Ks. I would want to see that before calling him up again.
Not sure how long Murphy stays up for. Not a big fan of his stuff. The FB isn't what it was last year or prior in the minors where he'd work upper 90s and routinely hit 100 as a SP, and his CV looks easy to spot with the loopy arch.
Which is so strange. The velocity is definitely up with the FB yet it seems to be far more hittable this season. Slider looks far worse for sure.
You can't really quantify this, but he doesn't have that same killer look to him he had last season as well. Last year, dude looked like a mercenary or serial killer with that stare and was probably tough to face mentally. He presence looks far different this season.
That would just be ridiculous.. If, and big if, he could stay healthy playing OF in his off-days, dude could provide like 8-10 WAR as a hitter and 3-6 WAR as a pitcher.
Imagine that, 11-16 WAR season LOL...
I haven't checked in awhile but, wow, Ohtani really is running away with the MVP! Vladdy beating him in WAR and winning the Triple Crown was his only chance imo, now, it's a wrap if Ohtani stays healthy.
Kirk wtf man...
Can anyone who's fully watching let me know if Ray's getting hit on pitches that hit the spot or if he's getting hit because he's missing his spot?
Wondering if Kirk is calling a bad game and commiting throwing errors.
Call up Kevin Smith and give him ABs at 3B to see what he is while demoting a BP pitcher. Improves our D and our O if he becomes another 800+ OPS guy in our lineup, which is already filled with them.
Less ABs for either Grichuk/Gurriel/Espinal, our weaker lineup members.
Pearson will be our closer type once he's up finally.
Let's hope the confidence of dominating in that role is all he needs to get back into the rotation next year.
