  1. Pearson is looking disgusting and the fastball looked more in the zone. Let's hope he keeps this up.
  2. I would do this lineup to start: Springer Kirk Vladdy Bo Teo Gurriel Chapman Biggio/Espinal Jansen And if Chapman takes off, you hit him 2nd and move Kirk to 6th and bump Gurriel to 7th.
  3. To add on Conforto, he's also vocally unvaccinated and anti-vax in general.
  4. You need to add Kirk or Pearson to that and then it probably goes through.
  5. The young prospects are Groshans, Martinez, & Moreno and maybe others by then.
  6. I doubt we're extending Teo, Gurriel or Chapman. Bo and Vladdy will command north or 30M AAV in their extensions. We're at 160M give or take right now. I know Ryu's 20M and Grichuk's 11M will be off the books in 2 seasons, but that only covers 1 of them. If you give extensions to all of those guys, you run a payroll north of 270M likely. With just Bo and Vlad, it's likely 220M.
  7. Round 2 with Kirby Yates maybe if he's healthy?
  8. Yeah, at his age, I wonder why type of contract Kenley Jansen would command?

  10. Yeah, I'd much rather consolidate major league pieces for Ramirez than trade from the Moreno/Martinez/Groshans pool. Let's keep the window open and the train rolling.
  11. Absolutely, that's the way to go about it. We have the flexibility, based on ruports of Freeman interest, to likely take our payroll up to 200M, so I'd rather do that with extensions to Bo and Vlad at this stage, rather than more high paid free agents. Then we can let guys like Ryu and Chapman, and even Teo walk, and replace them with Pearson/Tiedemann, Groshans/Martinez and a cheap OF option in FA or acquired by trading Jansen or Kirk once Moreno is ready.
  12. 100% this. You don't trade away the cheap years of control on guys that could be elite dudes to older leather AAV contracts with less control just because you know what you have with them right now. I would much rather hold onto Groshans, Moreno and Martinez and let they hit their way up, then trade major league pieces to make room for them.
  13. They haven't really traded guys that they loved. Martin was a depreciating prospect due to lack of power, and SWR lost velocity and was getting hammered in AA despite the swing and miss. Both of those guys dropped on prospect rankings after the season concluded. Kevin Smith is only highly ranked on Keith Law's list as of now. Hogland is the 1st guy of note they've traded and he's coming off an injury and is more control over stuff, at least right now. AA would have traded Vlad and Bo for Yelich. He likely would have traded Pearson and others by now as well.
  14. I like the idea of Biggio/Espinal at 2B and Groshans and Martinez in the minors where they need to hit their way up to replace those 2 or supplant Chapman in 2024. It's nice depth for the future. Moreno also allows us to see if Kirk or Jansen raise their value during the season and could be traded later. Holding onto Pearson in case Ryuor someone else goes down is good as well.
  15. Yep, I agree. A LH/Switch bat with a great approach would be welcomed, but there are other ways.
  16. Maybe replace him with Pearson then. More control and higher ceiling. That's my best offer. And if they don't bite, turn around and offer it to Arizona for Marte.
  17. Yeah, but he's cheap for those 2 years, which Cleveland values, and there's still potential in him. I don't know, I would hang-up at needing to include Moreno or Martinez though. You could probably send my proposed package with some tinkering and acquire Ketel Marte. I'd try that if Cleveland doesn't bite.
  18. Biggio, Kirk, Gurriel & Groshans You think that does it? Then you sign Conforto to replace Gurriel.
  19. I'd through in Gurriel as well to avoid sending Moreno or Martinez. If they say no to below deal, I hang-up. Biggio, Kirk, Pearson (or Gurriel) & Groshans
  20. Yep, Hogland is the only tough one to lose. But, we still have Pearson & Ricky Tiedemann, so I'm good with it.
  21. I mean, you could from load it a bunch I guess. 22/40M, 23/40M, 24-25/30M, 26-27/20M You could do that. Still gross but it lines up better with regression.
  22. Hell, top 8 including Kirk in the lineup at C.
  23. He throws super hard and has a great K/9. I remember looking at that picture with all his red & blue peripherals and he rated poor in most of them. You just hope Pete can fix the hard contact rates. Tons of upside though, and the contract is decent. He's a could placeholder for that year after Ryu comes off the books. And he's great insurance in-case Ryu is bad or anyone gets injured.
  24. Second coming of prime Brett Cecil? I would love that surprise.
  25. Could be 2 of the small market teams worried about the cost increases from the new CBA? Maybe Tampa, KC, or Pittsburgh?
