  1. Would prefer they just trade Bo. Can already tell he's got an ego and thinks he's already a superstar. Can see him being a huge ordeal to try and sign and he'll likely just end up walking the second he gets a chance. Vladdy, lock him up for his entire career.

  3. Twitter is saying Bellinger to the Jays, 2 years $16 million with a possible player opt out in year 2.
  4. So happy they traded Teo. His lazy style of play was driving me so crazy, and then seeing him in the dugout trying to be “Uncle Teo” was getting annoying. He could have a 3-0 count with the team needing base runners and he was swinging out of his shoes trying to hit out out but almost always swinging and missing or fouling it off, and then before you know it it’s 3-2 and he’s striking out. I have no numbers to back that up but anecdotally it always seemed to happen at critical points in the game as well. As for the return, I was hoping for another bat but my God we needed big bullpen arms and we just got a set up man and potential step in closer when Romano is hurt or unavailable. Plus a prospect. Plus saved money. OF is not typically a hard position to fill, hell throw Merrifield out there and he’s better than Teo in the field. Given we still have a catcher to trade and free agency, plus please God maybe trading Bichette who’s for sure gonna walk out on this city the moment he’s a FA (I can just sense it radiating off him, he’s a guy that will be booed when he comes to town if we don’t trade him first), there’s plenty of potential here with the flexibility this move affords us. It was clear this team needed a big change, all year long we could see it. This team lacked “it” and Teo was a huge part of that. We need guys who are gonna take this opportunity seriously and care about winning and Teo just never gave me that vibe.
  5. Jays exercise $3m option on Bass https://www.tsn.ca/mlb/toronto-blue-jays-exercise-option-anthony-bass-relief-pitcher-1.1876064
  6. The season was lost at the trade deadline when Atkins failed to adequately address all the weaknesses this team showed all year. No impact left handed bat. No impact starter. Not enough bullpen depth. A lot of people on this forum seemed to think I was dumb for pointing it out because LoL yOu'Re A cAsUaL lOoK aT tHe NuMbErS but don't feel so dumb right now. Luis Castillo was one of the pitchers we failed to acquire, choosing instead to hold onto all 3 of Jansen, Kirk and Moreno. Ultimately it doesn't matter, we were never getting past Houston even if we beat Seattle. But man there are a lot of problems to address this winter. Have to really give Bichette a hard look and decide if he's worth signing long term or if we're better off moving him. I'm usually a pretty good judge of character and gives me that vibe where he's gonna bounce out of town at the first available opportunity.
  7. He's a complete bonehead and if you watched the Jays half as much as I do you'd know it too.
  8. I really hope Teoscar gets traded this winter. It could be game 7 of the world series, bottom of the ninth, tie game, bases loaded, 3-0 count, this guy is swinging until he strikes out or grounds out 100%.
  9. This team isn't gonna win s***. Wild card spot, eliminated, back to the drawing board. The team just doesn't have "it" and it's pretty obvious.
  10. Man Bo is so terrible this year
  11. Yusay Kikuchi, I say Poopoochi
  12. Really getting sick of Bo
  13. C. Not good enough relative to what New York and Houston did. Needed a legit starter, got Stripling lite. Needed a left handed bat, got... Unvaccinated Whit Merrifield. Massive fail and feels like they aren't trying to win, they're just trying to get to the playoffs.
  14. Not to mention have to get Vlad and Bo signed.
  15. Yeah TSN with some great attention to detail there lol
  16. Blue Jays' GM Ross Atkins was thrilled with the deadline-beating deal. "He (Merrifield) is such a good player. He is very accomplished with incredible experiences, the versatility, the contact ability, the speed, playing multiple positions, incredible baserunner, feel very good about him at so many different positions and that versatility will help us down the stretch … we're very well covered now," Atkins told a Zoom call minutes before the Jays opened their nine-game road trip in Florida. The GM didn't bite when asked about his plans for get vaccinated or if he'd be pitching at the Rogers Centre any time soon. "He was acquired right at the deadline, so this is a very fresh acquisition and so because of that I'm not going to comment more on that process for him, and let him work through that with his family. I've basically said hello to him and that's it," added Atkins.
  17. Sounds like Atkins really did his due diligence.
  18. Let's hope so. He has to get vaccinated first. Not sure the rules but that means first shot, then what, 2 weeks minimum, then another shot, then 2 weeks before he can even get into Canada?
