  1. If he can give us some slugging from the left hand side he brings a lot of value to this team because they don't have enough slugging. He takes his walks. He can even bunt. He'll always be a strikeout merchant and he'll never hit for a high average but if he can do those other things he brings us value. He NEEDS to slug though.
  2. I'd rather have Varsho not do any rundowns coming back from a hamstring injury. He should have just left Clement die on the bases.
  3. Bieber done in Buffalo: 62 (47 strikes) Pitches 5 IP 5 H 2 ER 1 HR 6 K 1 BB
  4. Yankees will be fine as long as Judge is not seriously injured for a long period of time. They have too much talent to not go on a run. My takeaway from this has more to do with the Marlins. Weren't they like 15 or 16 games under .500 at one point? They are playing some fantastic baseball.
  5. Springer, Guerrero, Bichette, Kirk, Barger There are your damage bats. Varsho, Gimenez can give you some left-handed hitting but are everyday players because of their elite defense up the middle. We probably won't have Santander, and that's unfortunate, but at worst, if otherwise healthy, we are filling in only a couple of spots with platoon options. Decent platoon options. Is that any worse than most lineups in baseball? Yeah I know a right-handed power bat would have been nice, but we don't have the deepest system and we prioritized what we really needed more.
  6. I trust the assessment of the people that will have eyes on Manoah. With the rotation we have, yeah it's worth having a look at him. 1000%. It'll only happen if they think he has something to offer right? Otherwise it's a moot point. Our rotation is mediocre. There's no getting around that. Any chance of even moderate improvement we have to take. I still see the potential upside as being worthwhile. As long as the organization sees it that way.
  7. It would be but it's not reasonable to expect, especially with Gil back, assuming Judge isn't a bigger problem than it looks. They have fixed their major issues. Stanton has come back strong. They will likely go on some sort of extended run at some point.
  8. All that yakety yak and still haven't told me one good reason why we shouldn't at least take a look at him if he pitches well in his rehab starts. The bottom line is our rotation is not that good, it's actually quite mediocre, so if there's someone who has a chance to be better than mediocre you take a look at him. There's nothing to lose here, nothing at all. I don't act as if he's going to be that guy I've made it clear I don't expect it to happen, I wouldn't bet money that he's going to come back as a frontline guy, I just don't get the objection to taking a look and seeing.
  9. Finally somebody that agrees with me, I've been saying pray for Manoah for a couple of months 😄
  10. Might be better than present day Gausman too. I mean it might be close between the two but remember Manoah is in his physical prime, TJ surgery or not, Gausman isn't.
  11. I know, he's looked great. I'm not arguing anything against Bieber, I've never seen a fan base so determined to not want to improve its rotation with one of its best arms almost ready to go. Manoah is Jekyll and Hyde, we don't know which version is coming back but if it's Jekyll you mean to tell me the Manoah of a couple years ago wouldn't be in your playoff rotation over these other donkeys?
  12. Bieber and Manoah are basically on a similar timeline. Bieber a little bit ahead, but both are being built back up. If it's too late for him it should be too late for Bieber. It wasn't too late for Stroman in 2015. Six starters doesn't mean six studs. Quite frankly not a single one of the five guys we have in our rotation right now is a sure bet. Scherzer is still a wait and see and he's 41 years old and his health can go at any moment. Gausman, Bassitt and Berrios are all up and down and have been for a couple of years. Laurer has been a great story but, let's be honest here, we don't know how real it all is yet. I don't see Zito, Mulder and Hudson here. You do not pass on the opportunity to see one of your best stuff arms this year if you're trying to win a World Series.
  13. That depends on how he's pitching. I don't know why everyone just automatically assumes he's not pitching this year, unless he struggles in the minors he is going to pitch in the major leagues.
  14. Bieber, Manoah, Scherzer, Laurer That's my dream.
  15. Damn, Perez taking charge there Hope Cruz is okay. I don't root for injuries, unless it's Kevin Durant in the NBA finals against us.
  16. Sounds like Heiney is going to have to go on the seven day IL. Can't afford to wait and see when you only have two catchers on the major league roster at any given time.
  17. Max pitching decently well. He's had a few sliders back up on him that he's gotten away with.
  18. Vlad does a lot of things well, except the one thing we most need him to do.
