    Yeah a lot of people wanted to anoint him immediately. He hasn't been great.

    The problem with Berrios is the fact that he has multiple years left on his contract. I don't want that to influence any decisions the Blue Jays make with him but it probably will.

    I used to feel the same way at first, but then you'd get grey areas and judgment calls. Now I think we should aim to have calls as black and white as possible and whether you have contact with the bag is black and white.

    I do think it was time to take Lukes out from the top of the order. He's a nice player and a decent hitter, but he's not one of the guys I'm comfortable having the most at bats in a game.

    He may push Eovaldi to his highest pitch count of the season today unless he's flat of getting smacked.

    The one thing Fluharty has in his advantage is that he's our only other lefty in the pen. That makes him extremely valuable. I don't think he's going anywhere unless he f***s up.

    Now you're giving teams an advantage for the fact that they suck and possibly mismanage their own bullpen. Some sort of mercy or forfeit rule is coming at some point that's where this is all headed. I don't see how people don't see this.

    Now you're getting into the territory of forcing already overused bullpens to have to pitch more innings. The game is different now, bullpens are used extensively guys are throwing harder, the rules of the game have to change. Mercy rules have existed in baseball at various levels and various tournaments. It's nothing new. The whole fans paid for the game stuff is irrelevant because most fans don't really care once the game gets to this point. Maybe don't allow it until at least the end of the 7th, but teams should have the right at that point to say, we're beat, see you tomorrow.

    I have been calling for the ability to forfeit games for years. People keep giving me s*** about it but we're seeing more and more of this type of stuff. It is a farce and there's no reason for it to continue.

    Well he did just blast a guy in the ankle but yes generally he's got better command.

    He battled, hasn't had his best command in the last couple of outings, but he gave us 5, minimal damage. Can't argue that.

    Varsho and Straw in the same outfield is criminal.

    MLB going to have Straw piss in a cup mid game.

    Advantage in the pitching matchup, Springer should be back in the lineup also. We've got to stop giving up so many home runs. It's been a serious Achilles heel for us.

    2021 was a hell of a year even though they missed by one game. There were a lot of good moments that year.
