  1. Ironic from a guy named after a coin toss.
  2. Sweet Jesus! I just saw the Manoah line. I have no words.
  3. And yet none of that will change the fact that the pitching isn't good enough to win a world series. That's our ultimate Achilles heel and we're a long way from being good enough there.
  4. I'm really not surprise by much of what I'm seeing relative to what I expected this season. I guess Manoah slipped further than even I thought he would. RISP has been flukey. There's not much about this team beyond that that's really surprising to me. I thought it would be a struggle, it is a struggle. I expected Guerrero to disappoint. It is what it is, a good team that's not a contender.
  5. I love high average hitters, people that think average doesn't matter can sit on a cactus.
  6. Pearson proving why small samples are just that.
  7. His somebody in the head Natey Baby.
  8. I see things are going swimmingly against the mighty fish.
  9. I do say this game has taken a less than favourable turn, from spanking to getting spanked.
  10. I had no problem with the pinch hitting decisions, but our offense is so broken.
  11. What the f*** are the Rangers wearing? And who the f*** is calling this game?
  12. Your last point is the key, we don't have many options when it comes to this rotation. Pushing him to around 75 pitches I don't think is an extreme ask especially given the potential benefits. We can't be nonchalant in the middle of a competitive window.
  13. I prefer to have that patience as well but we have a window here and we have to do things to win now.
  14. What does everybody think of the idea of slowly ramping up Pearson later in the season. Even if we can just get him to 5 innings. I know people won't like messing with something that looks like it's working, but if we're not going to rebuild this thing and a championship is the goal, we can't just be content squeaking in to the playoffs just to get booted right out again. This rotation is not good enough, we need another stud and there's virtually no chance we will land one via trade. Manoah's likely not the solution. It's easier to replace a bullpen piece than to land a stud starter. It's a move that could give us a higher potential ceiling at least.
  15. Still weren't nearly good enough to be the Astros because the Astros were flat out better. Teams can go on flukey runsvsometimes but usually in the end they get beat by a better team. They had some incredibly clutch hitting also. The American League especially is tough. I do believe Baltimore has passed us by as an organization. The problem is if we wait for this window completely to close we'll have a lot less value in terms of assets to really work with. It could be a very quick rebuild with what we have to trade right now.
  16. Not just about record, it's about talent level relative to other contenders and realistic minor league capital for trades/late season call up. Talent level is good, it's certainly isn't a terrible team, it just isn't good enough. I see no way our SP will be able to compete with the best, that's our biggest issues, one front-line starter in Gausman and a bunch of 3-4 type pitchers (you could argue with Berrios, but I see him as more of a #3 on a championship team). Manoah was never really that guy, even if he figures it out, he's another #3 to me. Our bullpen is very good, good late season potential, no truly elite guys though. Lineup is good, still our strength, RISP is kind of flukey at the moment, but it was better in past years and not good enough to overcome the SP. I don't believe in Vladdy at this point to be the guy we needed him to be, and that really hurts us. Considering the payroll and how little we have in the cupboard, to me, this team should be in a better place.
  17. Berrios has had a weird year and a half. I tried to not lose complete faith in the guy because there were enough indications that he was better than his numbers made it look, but man oh man faith was waning. Nice to see him humming along again.
  18. 2015 was definitely the chance. I thought we flat out had the best team left standing. That was the f***ing year. The Brett Cecil injury basically ended our season. f***ing needed him against the Royals and their voodoo ********.
  19. Preach! They built a good team, not a championship caliber team and considering the state of the farm and the payroll, that's completely inexcuseable.
  20. Might as well pad some stats against Voth
  21. The comeback begins...
