  1. Team struggled mightily with offense last year, they went all out on a generational talent, then fell into a deep depression and bring us IKF, Vogelf*** (as Belt rots away in free agency), a broken down, diminished Votto, at least Turner might be okay though 🤷🏻
  2. Why do people keep waiting for him to be the guy he was for 3 to 4 months while playing half of his games in minor league ballparks? For the vast majority of his career he has been disappointing relative to his raw talent. He's an okay hitter, he's not the generational talent people keep hoping him to be, probably because he doesn't have the work ethic or desire to get there. He may be one of those guys that will go elsewhere and suddenly put it all together when he finally matures.
  3. Is it? Jansen will help, I can see the lineup being good against lefties. But I think the bottom part of the lineup will be a black hole in most other games. The rotation has almost no margin for error. We have no reason to have faith in White, Francis might be okay for a start here and there on an emergency basis but I don't want to have to rely on him. Ricky T is young with not a lot of innings under his belt to come in and carry a load. We are basically relying on Mahoah not sucking and the rest of the guys suffering no significant injuries or backslide in performance. We were extremely lucky last year and we're hoping to be extremely lucky again this year with the rotation. I think we're pushing our luck.
  4. Yeah it's not really versatility if you don't play the positions well.
  5. Split is fine. Was hoping for three of four after the first win, especially considering the devastated state of Tampa's starting pitching. On we go.
  6. Stanning for Mitch White? Really?
  7. Even that shot is a split second too late. His glove is already closed on the ball. His cleat may have been touching when the ball entered the pocket.
  8. It was a lot closer than Buck and Dan made it seem. He may have just been in contact with the bag the moment the ball entered the glove.
  9. Most lineups will involve IKF, KK, Biggio and Varsho. By AL East standards, it'll be a struggle on many days. Against lefties they might be pretty good though.
  10. Nice to see that start from the Ace.
  11. Surely she got lost on her way to the kitchen.
  12. Why is our worst hitter constantly hitting in the middle of the order? Varsho should be no higher than 7th in most lineups. I understand our offense is mostly trash but come on
  13. 31-year-old who's only had a sniff of the major leagues and has stunk. I don't see much changing.
  14. Gotta roll with the strike zone. We can use it to our advantage also.
  15. Guaranteed split at the Trop would be a very nice way to start the season.
  16. First place! Enjoy it while it lasts.
  17. 2021. That was our window. I knew it would probably never get better than that. Two MVP caliber performances, on top of another couple of all star performances and a Cy Young. Should have gone all in but allowed our pitching, particularly relief, to f*** us hard.
  18. I'm right on the fence between 84 and 85 wins. Fourth place in the division and no playoffs is probably the safest bet. Still could be a playoff team if things break their way, I'd say 35% odds we make the playoffs. Competition will be tougher now with the Yankees back in the mix and I wouldn't sleep on Cleveland. Really disappointing off season, as MEH as an off season can get basically, especially given some of the peak excitement for a signing that would've probably been an absolute disaster long term, but a lot of fun short term. Still some FA's out there I'd love to get, but of course we won't. Starting pitching should, mostly, still be very good, but again, we've left ourselves no margin for injuries and ineffectiveness. Didn't cost us last year, we're pushing our luck doing it again. It's bound to bite us. Bullpen isn't spectacular but should still be very good. Offense, likely still substandard. Maybe a bounce back here and there. All in all, I don't expect Vlad to be much more than he's been the past couple of years. Bo will be Bo. I can see a bit of a bounce back for Springer and Kirk also but overall, just okay. Defense should take a step back based solely on losing Chappy. 3rd to 1st throw is the most difficult "routine" play in baseball. We will be hurt by some lousy throws. We are the definition of a competitive team. Not bad enough to ignore, not good enough to strike fear in anybody.
  19. Can the Dodgers kindly let the rest of us know when they're done eating all the good food at the table so we can pick the f***ing scraps?
  20. Merry Christmas! f*** the Dodgers
  21. I would put this offseason firmly in the "s*****" category at the moment.
