  1. Babe Ruth is the greatest player of all time. Grichuk is better than Ruth if you don't account for context and era. Both of those things are true.
  2. EASILY the first option. Soto's career low OBP is .400. His career OBP is .430. This includes ABs as a teenager. He hit 34 HR in his only full season before this year. Soto's power isn't going to peak at age 20.
  3. If you dropped a random college athlete in the 1900 Olympics, he'd be setting world records. A modern scrub like Grichuk would probably hit 65 homers against old timey shitballers.
  4. No not even close, because if you don't account for era, we inevitably conclude that Randall Grichuk is a better hitter than Babe Ruth, and that doesn't help anybody. Soto is good enough to start having the conversation about him amongst the all time greats though. At 22, that's insane.
  5. Two Jays get injured in the same inning, and neither one was Merryweather or Pearson. Spooky.
  6. Tiny sample size but Richards has gotten destroyed late in jams this season.
  7. Charlie is afraid of confrontation. He sent a bat boy to get back his data sheet.
  8. If the Jays pitchers get squeezed in the next inning we know the fix is in.
  9. Rays bringing in the next day starter in the 7th is the most Rays thing ever.
  10. Is it stealing? Maybe. Unsportsmanlike? Probably. One thing I do know, the Jays and every team that does this are dumb f***s for printing out such sensitive information.
  11. I hate being the negative guy here but Bo is one of the worst shortstops in baseball. He's made some good plays but he's still very, very bad by traditional and advanced evaluations.
  12. Ump's ass is in the jackpot for a Sox-Yankees wildcard.
  13. That was the same s***** call that got Lawrie suspended years ago.
  14. It's a fine line but bench coaches need to be riding the ump a bit more. A lot of umps will give makeup calls (or at the least stop f***ing up) if you let them know.
  15. Charlie's moves are so weird sometimes I wonder if he's a secret genius.
  16. If Kirk's spot comes up in a meaningful situation Charlie will be answering some questions after the game.
  17. You can tell Montoyo trained with the Rays. His management style is so complicated.
  18. Catchers used to plant their throwing hand behind their back to protect the old meat hook. Buck is absolutely right current catchers have garbage fundamentals. Gary Sanchez is an embarassment behind the plate.
  19. He also used to routinely catch 130-140 games every year. Guy's a mutant.
  20. Every single executive in baseball with payroll flexibility makes that trade, and gives up huge talent on top of the money.
  21. Twins as an organization emphasize framing the s*** out of the low fastball.
  22. I wonder if Charlie will pinch hit McGuire for Jansen.
