Pearson is not better than Pop.

Richards basically throws 50% changeups down and 50% fastballs up. Whiskey Pete needs to tell Richards to mix in the low fastball for better tunnelling. Those 92 mph heaters at the belt aren't sneaking past a lot of MLB hitters.

Rays definitely overmanage the bullpen. It usually works out because they have an elite pen but it looks stupid at times like this.

This is the one I remember that really triggered the rule change. Bottom of the 9th and fans still have full cups of beer to throw at the players.

Avoiding disruptive fans is 100% the reason MLB limits beer sales. During the early 2000s, there were several high profile incidents where drunk fans would attack players late in the game, which led to unofficial rules limiting beer sales. Preventing drunk driving is an excuse they came up with many years later.

Based on a very limited eye test, Pop's slider didn't look very sharp last year. It had this weird frisbee cutting action and generated very few swings and misses. This year his slider has a lot more bite. I still don't think it's an great slider, but way better than last year and probably plays well with his fastball, which has always been disgusting.

Have Ricky start in the minors then bring him up as a reliever for the stretch run. Controls his innings and gives us a lefty weapon out of the pen.
