  1. He's always been more outspoken compared to a typical neutral broadcaster like Schulman. Back when Montoyo was managing Sidal could barely hide his disgust.
  2. My understanding is that his stuff keeps ticking up as he fills out. His age is a serious blemish but he lost a lot of development time with the pandemic and TJS. They must really love his stuff.
  3. Puzzling move from an outside perspective, especially when they didn't need the 5th SP slot. I can only speculate that they identified a major flaw in the pitching lab and are very confident in his mechanics moving forward.
  4. Yes possibly. Of the major sports, some contenders are Bo Jackson making All Star teams in two different sports in the same year Deion Sanders for similar reasons. At one point he nearly played a professional football game and baseball game in the same day both at a star level Babe Ruth when he out homered entire teams and ended the dead ball era Steph Curry single handedly changing the NBA At this level I wouldn't even include all time great seasons like Barry Bonds, Michael Jordan, and Wayne Gretzky. Those were essentially the peak of GOAT players but didn't transform the way we think about sports like the above examples.
  5. Awesome job but Vlad needs to stop standing still at home plate admiring his hits.
  6. Ohtani's value is underrated because his value is compressed into a single roster spot. He honestly might be more valuable than roided up Barry Bonds.
  7. You could tell the batters what's coming and it would be difficult to get hit this badly. There is something wrong with Manoah.
  8. AL 2B is quite thin. Merrifield is among the best this year.
  9. Reminds me of a right handed Billy McKinney.
  10. Who is the Jays best hitter and best pitcher? Same guy. Clement.
  11. Witt is a year or two from becoming an MVP candidate.
  12. I honestly don't think Francis will be eligible for the bullpen day. Just use him whenever you can.
  13. I'm not an expert on this but I think they have to formally send down Francis when Cimber returns (doesn't count as an option). Honestly I don't even think they can recall Francis when Cimber comes back. You have to spend 15 days in the minors before you can be recalled.
  14. Francis will have to go back down before Manoah's slot. They may option Hatch and formally call up Francis for Friday.
  15. This is the right move.
  16. Is there enough time left in the game for a classic Buck Martinez rant?
  17. We live and die by 2nd time through the order. Devil Rays baseball 101.
  18. On the bright side we have a chance to stretch out White in a low leverage game now.
  19. Schneider is just here to answer media questions and decide what to do with the home run jacket. Baseball decisions come from upper management.
  20. You can tell Buck is seething.
  21. Three pretty obvious mistakes by management this game. 1) Going to the pen in the 6th inning with a bullpen day. Led to Cimber being the only available RHP in the 10th 2) Not pinch running Espinal in the 9th. Espinal is surprisingly slow and coming off of hamstring injury. A pinch runner scores there. Holding Espinal at 3rd was the correct move though 3) Not playing the contact play in the 9th. Best case Twins throw the ball away and you win the game. Worst case you have runners on 1st and 3rd with one out instead of 2nd and 3rd with one out. The non-lead runner means nothing
  22. This would have been a perfect spot to bring in Bass lol.
  23. Not on Belt, he scorched that.
  24. Belt can't handle velocity inside.
  25. MAI HOUSE time
