    I can't help feeling that the Astros are what we could have been had we stuck to the original rebuilding plan and not made those trades in 2012.

    A difference of 5.5% is pretty f***ing huge from the top to the Blue Jays. There have been several games this year where it's already been blatantly obvious that the Jays are simply not getting the calls.

    It is still amazing to me that within the last 2½ years we have traded Alvarez, Nicolino, Syndergaard, Graveman, Wojciechowski, Nolin, DeSclafani and Happ and we are now so desperate for starting pitching we may be preparing to make yet another knee-jerk trade that will continue to cripple the long term development of this organization. If this season is lost due to a lack of quality starts, we have no-one to blame but the front office.

    Oh man, we needed this. Brilliant!!

    It was clear to anybody in the offseason that our SP was inadequate. Even with Stroman (who is not yet a proven major league article) we were still relying on a 40 year old declining junkballer, an innings eater on the verge of retirement, Hutchinson and at least one of Norris/Sanchez/Estrada. It did not take a genius to figure out we were woefully short in SP and there were mulitple options out there for signing such as Scherzer, Lester, Shields, Santana, McCarthy, Miller, Robertson, Hammel, Masterson etc. etc.

    So we started with Castro and Osuna in the bullpen, Sanchez and Norris in the rotation and Pompey, Pillar and Travis in the OF. 3 are gone, 2 are likely on the way out and only Pillar and Travis look major league ready at the moment. Remember, we were told this was a good idea in April. What a shambles.
