  1. Since 2015? Sorry, it just feels that way.
  2. How has the most vaunted offense in the majors come to this? Carrera leading off, Smoak, Pillar, Goins, Barney (even with his HR!), Martin just s***, Tulo fallen off a cliff, Colabello's career possibly over, JB and EE taking selfish hacks for new contracts. f*** it's painful to watch right now.
  3. This is really kind of depressing. s*** lineup, s*** pitching, s*** luck and s*** umpiring. Makes for a s***** night all round.
  4. Really given how s*** our luck, managerial decisions and offense has been, 8-9 is actually pretty f***ing good. You've got to figure at least one of those will change for the better sooner or later.
  5. Someone gif that Bautista f*** up and play it to him next time he asks for $457m over 13 years.
  6. EE and JB swinging for new contracts plus Tulo and Martin falling off a cliff = ugly offense.
  7. Having reread one of your posts I am now willing to reach complete agreement because you referenced the hot tub time machine. Seriously that movie was stupid but incredibly funny in places.
  8. The whole point here was that Jones had declined to the point where he was no longer a real threat and that Biagini was easily going to get him out until Thole (a universally accepted terrible catcher) screwed up. That is patently untrue. Jones is still a very good major league hitter whose offensive numbers only went into rapid decline in 2015: 2012: 22.4 2013: 21.1 2014: 17.6 2015: 6.4 2016 (projected): 6.7 There was no reason in a close divisional game not to pinch hit for Thole and have Martin catch at the end of the game and there was no good reason not to bring in Osuna when 1 out was needed and there were runners at 2nd and 3rd and then the bases were loaded with a proven hitter at the plate. These were poor managerial decisions. Picking fly s*** out of pepper isn't going to change that.
  9. No. Fangraphs: 2012 WAR: 4.3 2013 WAR: 4.2 2014 WAR: 5.5 2015 WAR: 3.6 Projected 2016 WAR: 3.0 A year at most (2015) and even now he projects as a 26 HR, 80 RBI guy who can hit very effectively in the Major's.
  10. Refer to above answer. "Every game" is a nonsense statement.
  11. You're right, 2 out sorry. Still, with the game on the line bases loaded and Jones up there is a problem. And you can't write Jones off like that, this is not a video game and he is a proven major leaguer. Your sentence about Martin is specious and nonsensical. I would not expect Martin to come in every close game, but against a close division rival with a chance to win the series? Even in April you have to consider it, no?
  12. I hear you, but Martin is being paid $75m over the next 4 years and he needs to be ready whenever. Thole just should not be the backup catcher on a team with Championship aspirations. Period.
  13. I appreciate your point, but bases loaded 1 out with Adam Jones at the plate is not in trouble?
  14. Why is Colabello still a Blue Jay? Why was Thole not benched after Dickey finished pitching or at least when the game was clearly coming down to the wire? Why wasn't Osuna bought in when Biagini was obviously in trouble? Answers on a postcard/twitter to #Gibbonsisgreat.
  15. A great win and back to .500! I still believe in Storen, let's give him some more time before we write him off completely in high leverage situations.
  16. Honestly just frustrated at the length of time he's been out the lineup. Last April feels like a very long time ago and the whole situation last year felt like an exercise in futility with the whole 'will he, won't he' play again saga. It's pretty clear at the moment how much we need him.
  17. If this goes much slower they'll be planning his retirement dinner soon. Not that I don't want to see him back 100% healthy, but holy f***...
  18. Osuna is filthy. We need him to close right now, but I look forward to when he starts.
  19. I remember many on here who justified Shatkins shortchanging him $450,000 and heading to Arb.
  20. No-one. And JD is simply the best.
  21. Here comes Pillar. No worries.
  22. Well, at least Colabello lasted 3 pitches I guess.
