  1. Wow you certainly quick to tally DP is right counter.
  2. With this ideology Dayton Moore should lose his job. KC has done nothing this off-season.
  3. Lol, he's been on the job 32 days now. He hasn't even learned everyone's name yet. This thread takes ridiculous to a whole new level. We haven't even had his first Winter Meetings. If you had your way we wouldn't have any salary room for players...it would all be spent on our executive of the month hiring policy.
  4. This^^ DD has proven, he is very good at crippling teams with gigantic contracts, to players fighting father time. It looks like the Red Sox cannot even give Hanley away. I guess they figure he'll play first base this year, than DH/1B moving forward.
  5. This is possibly the toughest lesson as a whole to learn.
  6. Pirates after non-tendering Alvarez???
  7. They like me.....they really like me. For the first time in so many years, I actually really care that I was picked to be included in something. I will send my list and remove the one I posted in the minor league forum.
  8. For sure you can. I really actually like that sleeper pick. I gave consideration to both him and Meza when rounding up my top 20. Sorry if I ruffled feathers by simply posting a list when the topic came up. I kind of keep one all season, and jumped at the chance to share it.
  9. I will re-post my list once the official forum top prospects have been published.
  10. I think they will use 1 or 2 Rule 5's if at all. I think where they will take advantage with the 40 man roster is that they will claim players DFA'd as free agents are signed. A lot of teams are at the 40 or one or two spots under. They didn't add and protect players in a calculated risk that they will not be solid enough to stick on teams 25 if picked, or likely not advanced enough to be picked compared to what is available. (Perdomo, DSJ, Robson, etc.)
  11. I would say I agree with you. That's why I think it's more likely that they discovered a "pitching pattern" more than tipping pitches. When I played we had a third base coach that was a former pitcher. He was uncanny at picking pitches (the vantage point makes it easier as well). When a change up was coming he would just use our full name instead of the "nickname" he normally used when cheering us on. I would say picking pitches is more likely to come from coaches, the bench or baserunners. I also had team-mates who didn't want to be told, they preferred to just "see pitch, react to pitch".
  12. What I read was that the advance scout noticed that David Price had a pattern of throwing a change up in certain situations. He seemed to always follow a foul ball on a fastball, that the batter had a very good swing on (straight back/just missed it); with a change up. That being said we used to face a pitcher who had a filthy change up, that made us look foolish. We eventually were able "pick" when it was coming because the pitcher grunted louder. It happens.
  13. It would be kind of funny if we picked Tirado back up.
  14. I'm intrigued by Luis Perdomo. But a catcher would make sense.
  15. I think they want his roster spot to acquire some potential pitching in the Rule 5 draft. I think we pick one and maybe even two players this year. It would appear the Jays are going to use the fact they have 6 spots on the forty to take advantage of other teams who are right up against it. Maybe some actual productive use of the 40 man moving forward.
  16. I have a feeling that we are going to be active in the Rule 5 for the first time in a while.
  17. Makes complete sense, move him from a position where his defense and offense make him above average. Than move him to a much less premium position while paying him 20 million. Apparently whoever stated this has not heard of Rowdy Tellez. What part of "Ryan Goins is more John MacDonald than Troy Tulowitzki", do people not understand?
  18. My guess is the Jays have taken a calculated risk, that guys like Perdomo and Smith will not be taken. I think you will also see them use the roster space they have to claim a few DFA's that they think could be valuable to them... AJ Griffin, Wilin Rosario, or some other DFA's perhaps.
  19. Ben Rowan, Brady Dragmire, Blake McFarland?
  20. I like taking a flyer on AJ Griffin. Any thoughts?
  21. I really hope they protect Perdomo.
  22. If Profar ends up staying healthy and able to play shortstop...he may be.
  23. I don't buy that Cito didn't like him because he wore a helmet in the field. The dude had a f***ing aneurysm in College. He promised his mother that if he kept playing baseball,he would wear that in the field. Anyone who hated that is a complete f***tard. On a lighter side about the helmet. Later in his career when him and Ricky Henderson were playing together they had the following conversation... RH: "You wear a helmet in the field eh... JO: "Yes I do" RH: "I played with a guy in Toronto that wore a helmet in the field." JO: "Yes Ricky...that was me."
  24. You want to trade Ben Revere to the Cubs for Felix Doubront? A) The cubs released Doubront last year than we picked him up...on a minor league contract. He is on the A's roster now, so you would have to work a trade with them. C) This would not be a wise move. There are about 30-50 better options than Felix Doubront.
