  1. Full stop on bringing anything close to fringe/bounceback/reclamation project players unless they are %100 MiLB training camp invites. There just isn't the type of depth player at whatever the cost will be that can legimately Compete for playing time The Jay's should be invested in a player via trade or signing that fits the clubs needs to fill a need the FO sees OR they let their minor league talent show what they can do through the first month or so of the season. It's basically trade for established talent, sign coin-flips for league minimum or let the young talent play.
  2. Happy New Years yah filthy animals!
  3. You got me there man...lol. Nice
  4. Walk it off bro. Saying s*** like that is not cool. Drop that s*** or you and I are going to have a problem. It's ok to get hammered or whatever...no one f***ing cares on here. That's why I love this place. No f***ing pussies (other than conner....) and we can s*** on each other. All good. But don't use terms like retarted and Asperger's as an insult. That s*** is real. That s*** are things that some of us deal with every day. I hope you are better than that.
  5. Oh come all ye faithful? Something about chestnuts? Definitely NOT silent night... (I missed the original post, hope I didn't repeat any of the same comments...lol)
  6. The Jays did exactly what teams (real life and video games...) are supposed to do. Draft and develop talent, then use that talent to improve your teams roster or trade that surplus talent to fill gaps that development didn't fill. That's what they did. The perceived value of that talent is just about perspective and the internal methods that each team uses to assess that talent. The Jays saw a valuable piece with 4 years control that filled a gap in the teams structure. They had a somewhat redundant piece to trade for it. It's literally a win-win for both of these teams. The spray chart overlay with AL team parks, the change in the shift rule, the intensity that will affect the dug-out, the running out plays to first etc and the cost control for 4 years were things the team desperately needed to fix. They affected all of these things with one trade. That's a huge f***ing win. I love Moreno but the Jays need Varsho more than him right now.
  7. . I don't always agree with what you say but "woke:? Yah....ummm...no
  8. Varsho is a f***ing linebacker. Bichette is going to get killed if he goes into the outfield and Varsho freight-trains him.
  9. If the Jays made these moves earlier in the off-season they might have signed at least one of the high-end pitchers they were after! lol Who wouldn't want to pitch in front of that defense?
  10. Yes for sure...but um...what are you replying to?
  11. A few rambling thoughts from todays trade. If you ignore Bo at SS there will be a game that has Jansen, Berrios, Vladdy, Merrifield, Chapman, Springer, KK and Varsho on the field at the same time. That defense is f***ing insane... Subtract Hernandez and Gurriel and add KK, Varsho and Mattingly to the dugout and s*** just got real down there. I am hoping they stop Vladdy from the cooler soaking after home wins as well. Jury is still out for me on the home-run jacket... Did the FO get Austin Martin vibes from Moreno? Obviously Moreno has shown a lot more than Martin but I wonder if they didn't see the same upside from him as they did last off-season?
  12. Still have one of the best catcher group in the majors and now we have one of the best outfield D core in the league
  13. You would hope so but society always disappoints.
  14. I am guessing the KK will come to camp in the best shape of his life.
  15. What would an offer to Stripling look like now for the Jays? Would 3/45 get it done for both sides?
  16. Same here. He posted it like a fact, not speculation. I am definitely not going to double check that kind of thing...lol. I guess I trust you guys too much.
  17. KK @ 12/year is a lot better value than a lot (most?) of the deals signed this off-season.
  18. I wouldn't sign either until next offseason. Bo needs to show he can throw to first and Vlad needs to show he can get the ball in the air. Next off-season would be "panic time" to get them signed. Not worried about this year.
  19. Clearly I have not been paying attention to some of these things... There is a draft lottery now? dafuq... https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10057876-mlb-lottery-results-2022-full-selection-order-analysis-and-more
  20. This mgmt team went after bounce back and "stats might mean a breakthrough " type players last off-season. If the value is there yhwn I really want them to commit to more proven players this year. More weighted towards the Merrifields vs the Tapias
  21. Now we can have 6 tool players! That is fun.
  22. Meant to vote Yes...oops
  23. I hate the off-seasons on this site. It often turns into several pages of a couple dudes that no one but themselves really cares about bickering back and forth for 10 pages of crap. It's semantics, it's "how would you describe " or define ********. It often comes down to interpretation of stats for 3 f***ing pages...ugh. (Yes I realize that many you are not like that...thank you for making the site bareable Can we please stay away from that in THIS thread in the off-season? I would really like this thread to stay on topic with whatever articles you see for our minor league talent and new signings. Just the new reports and data please.
  24. Why do the Jays keep Zimmer and JBJ on the playoff roster if it's not to use as defensive replacements when ahead in the game? That is the only reason they are on the roster. What the actual f***? When they were ahead 8 -1 Tapia was then the opposite of what they needed. Mind boggling...
