  1. It's well worth the trip IMO. Cool enough City and an amazing ballpark.
  2. Fan rejects Pirates' offer for rare Skenes card https://thescore.com/mlb/news/319951 The 11 year old who pulled that Skenes 1 of 1 card is rejecting Pirates offer and putting it up for sale. Season tickets for life don't mean anything when you live in Cali...
  3. I think I'm happy that Pressly isn't interested. 36, declining (consistently) and expensive. I mean if the Astros ate a lot of the contract and we didn't give up much - sure, but I think we have more pressing needs.
  4. Or they're stuck after the results of the physical. I imagine his shoulder/elbow look like a 90 year old's after he installed drywall on ceilings for 45 years.
  5. He could be kickin' it old school with the Sears catalog...
  6. He's coming off a bad season and is often injured. He's due $15M this year (but with only a $8.333M luxury tax amount) and then has club options for 2026 and 2027 at $20M. So - he's not as "affordable" as he once was and I'm not sure his value has ever been lower. I certainly think the Jays have the prospects to land him. Something built around some of our recently drafted players, or around Ricky T should get the job done. One advantage of never developing prospects is you don't have to worry about "letting one get away" 😉
  7. My gut also tells me Alonso is going back to the Mets. The best angle I see is that Vientos can't play 3rd and if the Mets are horny to land Vlad, you can't have Vlad, Alonso and Vientos and one would have to go next year. Bregman is the best positional fit, but I'd be shocked if he doesn't join the Tigers (what are those guys doing?). A trade for Robert seems like the next logical pivot. I'd be pretty happy if we landed Robert as a 2nd big bat.
  8. Reasonable deal for Profar - right around what was expected. If he sustains the gains he made last year, he'll be a steal. Ozuna clogs up their DH spot though - where Profar should probably play on a regular basis.
  9. It has to be because they think they can get and/or sign Vlad?
  10. I am super interested to see the terms of this one...
  11. Exactly zero people are acting like he's the second coming of JD.
  12. This is a really impressive deal from the worst GM in team history, who has ruined the franchise and made the Jays the laughing stock of baseball 🥱
  13. That's a very trustable face.
  14. Duct tape and a sharpie man.
  15. Guardians designated RHP Pedro Avila for assignment. Avila gets the boot from Cleveland’s 40-man roster to free up a spot for veteran high-leverage relief arm Paul Sewald. The 28-year-old righty was a revelation last year for the Guardians, posting a strong 3.25 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 73/30 K/BB ratio across 74 2/3 innings (50 appearances). He’s a virtual lock to be claimed off waivers in the coming days. That's a pretty crazy move by the Guardians. They must know last year was a mirage. Dude was pitching for them in the playoffs last year.
  16. FanSided’s Robert Murray reports the Cubs and Jon Berti are in agreement on a one-year contract. MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand adds that the deal is for $2 million and includes $1.3 million in performance based incentives. That seems like a solid deal for a utility infielder.
  17. Guardians signed RHP Paul Sewald to a one-year, $7 million contract with a $10 million mutual option for 2026. It will be interesting to see if Sewald can return to previous form, or if his smoke and mirror show has come to an end.
  18. I'd love to see us add speed and stolen bases to this team. Love what it brings to the team and from an entertainment perspective. If we end up starting Clement at 3rd this year, I'll at least be happy with the speed he brings to the lineup on a daily basis.
  19. If this is true - then that's a perfectly good explanation. I think it's safe to assume that Rogers gave Atkins the "thumbs up" to cover the $11M to get the international money - possibly to give us a better shot at landing Sasaki and it likely will have no impact on our 2025 budget. I know this might be crazy, but perhaps Atkins didn't get caught with his pants down - not knowing that he could wait and make that trade later, if Sasaki did sign with Toronto. Maybe he didn't sacrifice any remaining 2025 budget or eat into CBT space that they might be looking at. I'm certainly not surprised, as even for Atkins, those initial claims just didn't make a lot of sense. This is a good example of why fans should wait for more/better information to become available - or just give the guy the benefit of the doubt a bit - before jumping to conclusions and making all kinds of BS allegations and claims. People do this in general far too much and it's eroding society.
  20. Never saw a minor league deal I didn't like. Both seem like solid moves. Lovelady has a great name and was lights out in AAA last year (like 13% K rate, <1% BB rate, FIP <1.00)
  21. No way he signs for $360M with deferrals. I could see $360M after you factor in the deferrals and that's the cap hit equivalent. Maybe...still seems low. I think he gets $450M with deferrals.
  22. If the Jays figured out how to defer money, and want to, then we may extend Vlad and Bo!
  23. Sabathia, Ichiro, Wagner elected to Hall of Fame https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3196650 Andruw Jones and Beltran are close. Now much love for King Felix and no love at all for David Wright or either Russel Martin or Brian McCann - just 2 of the very best to ever play the position.
