    Actually - EE's hit tool declined this year. wRC+ over the past 5 years has been 150, 146, 151, 150 and 134 (this year). His base running has gone from positive to negative over that period. K% jumped this year. The decline has started. The question is - how rapid will it be? Turns out hitting in front of an elite hitter like Donaldson can camouflage perspective and make a person very rich.

    f*** it's impressive to see John Lackey still throwing 94-95 and this effective at age 37. I still remember his first playoff start with the Angel's way back when. Makes me feel old.

    Am I the only one cheering for LA simply because I don't want people to mistake Dusty Baker as a good manager? Promote the advance stat FO over the team hiring the old school manager all day long...don't give the Goose Goosage types any fuel.

    Ever watched the MLB all-star game before the winner was awarded home field advantage? It looked exactly the same. Players have always tried in the MLB all-star game. Awarded HFA to the all-star game winner is stupid.

    So I just watched the video of when Ortiz went back onto the field after the game to thank the fans. Wouldn't that have been 1000 times better if there weren't 50 f***s from the media there with camera and microphones? It would have been so powerful to see him walk out to the mound all by himself to say goodbye. I hate the media so much.

    This! I'm amazed how quickly players adjusted throughout the year...but it must have been incredibly hard not to revert back to lifelong habits - especially when you internally probably would like to kill Odor
