  1. Did you miss the part where he was a serial liar who would make things up just to get a rise out of people? I don't doubt he tainted the chili, but with pranksters - you never know. Pissing on people in the shower has been a locker room antic since the dawn of time man. Don't get all SJW.
  2. That's awesome. I loved this comment: Bacon, I had a buddy I played ball with who went to high school with his daughter. He met Greg for the first time at pictures before a dance, and asked him for some baseball advice. Greg told him “Throwing a change-up is a lot like fingering a girl. You’ve gotta try a bunch of different grips and angles, but once you get it right, it’s lethal.” That’s a helluva piece of knowledge
  3. LOL - that's amazing.
  4. Napoli for $8.5M? Barf.
  5. Probably not. You have to be able to throw to play in the CFL. He might have been able to turn himself into a decent TE if he committed to that.
  6. I don't know how you describe LF and 1st base as horrible situations without acknowledging that Pearce should fill one of those spots - and he's not horrible, he's really good. If you're ignoring Pearce because you're concerned he can't play a full season - then you should add 2nd base into the list of "horrible situations".
  7. Maybe it's a check swing...
  8. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/taijuan-walker-springs-most-improved-starter/ There's a picture of the 10 bone spurs they removed from Walker's ankle this offseason. That's kinda nasty.
  9. Remember when he was a sure-fire HOFer? Unfortunately it's been hard to watch over the past 3 years.
  10. If you're in a league where Bird is either a sleeper, or on the FA list. You need to find a new league.
  11. Profar seems like a decent lottery ticket too...
  12. This is what Mike Podhorzer has to say about A-a-ron Sanchez... On the other hand, Aaron Sanchez has become the 2017 version of 2016 Dallas Keuchel. The extreme groundballer with a low BABIP that everyone is falling all over themselves to try justifying as sustainable because he just looks so darn good on the mound. Except that he doesn’t induce pop-ups, and allowed a Soft% and Hard% barely better than the league average. If he was such a weak contact king, it should appear in some stat that isn’t BABIP. So I’m not believing it, and paired with his average strikeout rate, expect his ERA to rise toward his 4.00+ SIERA.
  13. I suspect Grant would disagree.
  14. No matter how you put it - 50+ career WAR!
  15. It might not just be for a month...
  16. What's Alford's best case scenario? Mike Cameron? (looks up Mike Cameron on Fangraphs) Man - Mike Cameron was underrated!
  17. Goes to show you how much the stock of Glasnow and Hutch have fallen... Edit - Williams posted a smooth 7.82 ERA last year. Trevor Williams was drafted in the second round by the Marlins in 2013, in one of the weirder trades in recent history. He was traded for Richard Mitchell, which seemed pretty uneven given Williams' proximity to the majors and his draft pedigree. It turns out that the trade was actually partially compensation for the Marlins added special assistant Jim Benedict to their front office from Pittsburgh.
  18. It appears the Kremlin have removed that from the internet...
  19. Good god that's hilarious pre-Clinton.
  20. I love how he ignores the fake rubber they put in at the front of the mound. Goes right to the top like the big boys!
  21. Matt Boyd makes the Tigers rotation. 21/0 K/BB ratio this spring in 21 innings.
