    I noticed Wok and King are MIA. It sucks. I don't miss IBB and much like the 2nd base slide rule - I no longer think or care about it. I haven't once thought to myself "man, I wish runners could try and injure middle infielders at 2nd base again. I really miss seeing that". Change isn't as difficult as some people think.

    I wish you could sort Fangraph articles by total # of .gifs. I love baseball .gifs. I want to see pitchers repertoire and hitters making adjustments and/or doing something great. I click on so many articles hoping to see .gifs and am often left disappointed.

    Anthony Rendon is quietly 4th in ML amongst hitters with 3.3 WAR. He's a f***ing stud. Dusty is brutal.

    I never really considered this. Does this happen a lot? I guess that could happen in the NFL a bit, where there are horrible organizations with horrible coach....or coaches who run a certain system that you'd like to avoid.

    I personally think we're going to see fewer and fewer teams willing to give out long term, high price deals to aging players - even superstars. Nobody wants the next Pujols.

    Can we just have set amounts that you sign for like in every other sport, so teams take players based on their abilities and not their price tag? I guess in that situation, a team might take a HS player higher than they should so he'd get enough money to skip college....but whatever.

    I hear you, but Shatkins has been trying to upgrade our backup catcher all year long. I expect that to continue - regardless of age and our record.

    Montero and his 112 wRC+ would be tied with Martin for 3rd best on the Jays right now. I think we could use him.

Montero says "it really sucked because the stolen bases go to me and when you really look at it, the pitcher doesn't give me any time" He's lashing out because he's upset that some old school or casual fan (or Dave Stewart) is going to look at those stats and say "yeah OK, Miggy can't throw nobody out". If he just acknowledges that CS% is s*** - correctly shrugs it off to Arrieta can't hold runners - then he doesn't say anything and he's still on a ML team. That said - obviously he needs to look at his own pop time and acknowledge he isn't a good thrower and when it's him and Jake together, people be running wild and there's nothing they can do.

    Ah for some reason I thought pop time was the time they received it to the time if left their hand...

    To be fair, Jake Arrieta is embarrassingly slow to the plate and all those SB's are on him and he didn't field his position in that game. Arrieta has one of the highest SB% in baseball against him over the past 4 years. Contreras's arm certainly helps, but he isn't going to throw out all those guys. Montero's biggest fail though is thinking that CS% is a reflection on his abilities. It's like pitcher wins - it's a farce and shouldn't be used to judge a catcher. They should record the time from the point it hits the catchers glove to the time it hits the middle infielders glove and have leader boards based on catchers average time. That doesn't factor in accuracy, but is still much more reflective of the catchers ability to throw out runners. He got all pissed off because old school and/or casual fans will be judging him based on his s***** CS% and ran his mouth. Jays should sign him and teach him advanced statistics. LH catcher who can hit. We could use that.

    His stats look super underwhelming to me. No idea where you're getting "solid power" from. His ISO is .117. I don't think he's earned any promotion.
