  1. I generally would agree, although I could cite Jose Reyes as a SS who's defense fell off a cliff as he aged. Similarly, I could cite Jim Edmonds, who's defense in CF was consistent throughout his career - almost improving to a peak at age 35. There are always exceptions to the rule (like Tulo).
  2. Wow - I suspect he'd get claimed, but what do I know.
  3. There's certainly a difference. I don't know if I'd consider it massive though.
  4. To be fair - he was Kevin Pillar with the bat until this year. I'd have to assume the Braves expected his REMARKABLE defense would start to decline as he aged and they had no faith in his bat. Would you trade Kevin Pillar right now for say - Tyler Glasnow?
  5. Tim Beckham Jr. has put up 1.6 WAR in 15 games for Baltimore. Now up to 2.8 WAR on the season. Wow.
  6. Future 1st baseman??? http://i.imgur.com/xVjxKt8.gif

  8. Carter Capps hasn't struck out anyone in 4 appearances since being recalled. From Elite to zero in a hurry. Has anyone seen him throw without the 'hop'?
  9. To be fair - he sucked until this year. Now he's one of the best bullpens arms in baseball.
  10. Did we upgrade how the site works on cell phones? Or did my phone do an update or something?
  11. A few things: 1. It's almost like you've never followed baseball before. All the ebbs and flows you're describing occur naturally throughout the course of 162 games. They don't disappear when teams realise they are in a wild card race. 2. KC always looked dumb for not unloading Cain, Hosmer and Moose. 3. Andrelton Simmons is the 9th best positional player in baseball. Trout is not alone. There are 2 players on the team.
  12. I pictures gorgeous women ripping off their shirts in excitement.
  13. f*** that - nicknames no shirts is a MUCH better way to promote the game. THAT'S how you show people how much fun can be had playing the game. I hope it spurs a generation of kids writing their nicknames on the back of their shirts with sharpies in the sandlots around Northern America. The god damn home run by Jose and the success of the Jays in 2015/2016 did such a s***** job of captivating the younger crowds and promoting baseball across our nation.
  14. f*** that still gives me the tingles. Raw emotion. One of the best baseball moments of my life. I love watching the players reaction - right at the end of that video, EE is jumping around like a 7 year old - all by himself in the on deck circle. What a moment.

  16. Just came on here to post this. Would love to see Estrada back next year
  17. It's really nice that the Jays can point to the Justin Turner contract as leverage for a JD extension.
  18. Jesus - just when I thought he'd come out and say JD is a egotistical primadonna and I can't wait to trade him...
  19. I hate the red uni's. I thought I hear the players weekend same from the PA - like these excessively rich players need more freedom in their jobs or some s***. Maybe that's why I have a distaste for it (outside of the corny/cringiness of bad nicknames and ugly jerseys).

  21. Why stop with jersey's - They should be allowed to wear personalized hats on the field too. Martin can wear a toque, Stro can wear one of his small man syndrome hats, Pillar can wear a hipster hat, Smoak can wear a lumberjack hat, Biagini can wear a joker hat - it will be EPIC!!! I will feel like I know the Jays players better and that will make me like baseball better. Young people hate rules and tradition, so they will probably start following the game immediately.
  22. Putting nicknames on the back of an ugly jersey isn't fun - nor does it show any personality. I'm supposed to be impressed by their ability to come up with unique nicknames? That appeals to people? People are stupid. Full disclosure that I've done zero research on this, but didn't this come as a request from the PA?
  23. You so should have listed those prospects only by their initials...
  24. I LOATHE Buck and Tabby. LOATHE (grinch voice). But personally, I like broadcasters who are slightly on the homer side. I like the home run calls and the extra excitement they bring when the Jays do something well. That's it though. Nothing else. Nothing.
  25. This player's weekend thing is really dumb IMO.
