  1. Ok, I watched it. Easy to see in hindsight, but I don't mind that Grandy tagged up on the Morales drive. If that's caught, he's moves to 3rd with 1 out, representing the tying run. If the ball's gone, the game's over and if the ball hits off the wall and gets away from the OFer (which was a possibility if Trout tries to make a leaping catch), then he scores also. With nobody out - I don't fault him at all. Morales should have been on 2nd after hitting the ball. That's bad and would have been awful if Teo hit into a double play. It was the coaches fault for sending Grandy on Teo's fly ball to RF.
  2. f*** I turned this off when Clippard did his thing. Now I'm reading this and have no idea what happened....
  3. Is it wrong that I kind of agree with this guy? Dogg - piss off with you multiple accounts and stupid posts. Get a life.
  4. That's not all camera angle IMO. He looks like Bobby Witt out there (I think the first time I heard anyone talk about pitchers throwing across the body, the broadcaster was talking about Bobby Witt when he was on the Rangers). Havok is correct though - it creates a lot of deception, but is probably the root cause of his BB issues. I believe it also adds a lot of stress to the arm.
  5. Wow - he really throws across his body a lot.
  6. Oyster Burns 1:03 you more confident swanson or rosario becomes a good hitter? Kiley McDaniel 1:03 Swanson
  7. James 1:02 Does anyone draft Luke Heimlich Kiley McDaniel 1:03 Sounds like yes
  8. Bored Employee 12:38 Is Kevin Smith impressing, beating up on younger competition, or some combination thereof? Kiley McDaniel 12:38 Toned down a swing that was too loud in college, still has some pop and bat control. Curious to see how long he can sustain it and/or I get to take a look if he gets promoted
  9. If this team had a chance of winning 86 games with Vlad on it - then I'm with you. I'm just not sure they are. We're chasing Seattle, LA and probably Minny and the A's for 1 WC spot. If we aren't winning 85+ games, then we basically are the White Sox and Marlins.
  10. I see Josh has settled in down in Mexico where that type of thing is aaaa...nevermind.
  11. Do those predictions factor in that we've probably lost Osuna for the rest of the year? I'll be the first to admit that I often get pessimistic too quickly, but the outlook is f***ing bleak for the Jays. As of right now - I've all but lost interest in the day to day games. - Osuna's f***ed - Stro's hurt - Sanchez is what most thought he was before 2016. - Travis sucks - Estrada may be done. - Garcia's hurt. - Tulo + his insurance (Diaz) are hurt. (side note that I'm still optimistic that Diaz can hit. No idea what his xwRC+ is - if that's even a stat, but his BABIP is only .200) - Grichuk was god awful and hurt. - Martin's been garbage. - Morales is done. - Alford get hurts and is lost right now - Pearce finally hits, but gets hurt. I mean we were all optimistic that if things broke right, this team could contend for the wild card....so far, it's been almost the complete opposite. It's probably a small miracle we are where we are with Pillar + Luke f***ing Maile leading the team in WAR. Maybe that's the point, as it probably can't get any worse? At this point, you're calling up Vlad because you think he's ready and you think it's the right thing to do. You're not doing it because you believe you have a legitimate shot at the 2nd wild card spot.
  12. It's all just talk so they can justify holding him down in the minors until late April 2018...
  13. People have enough legitimate reasons to hate Rogers without evening considering the Blue Jays.
  14. But Glory's point remains. The Nats have a very good team (when healthy) and with Harper hitting the FA market this offseason, it certainly appears they are desperate to make a deep playoff run. They are calling up Soto b/c of all their injuries, but they are also doing it b/c they think he can help them win now. Adding Vlad to this Jays team likely changes nothing.
  15. You don't appreciate smart roster management that impacts the success of your favourite team?
  16. God - you should head back to Bethlehem.
  17. First baseman with power eh? Where on earth would we find a prospect like that?
  18. Page 138 of this thread is f***ing cancer.
  19. Nat's call up 19 year old Juan Soto to the majors. sigh....unzips.
  20. Jim - this team was constructed to compete with the Angels, Twins, Mariners and A's of the world - for the 2nd wild card spot. We've talked about this on numerous occasions. They took a low risk shot at the playoffs - which we all knew was only possible of things break right. You have no idea what they could have got for JD this offseason. You have no idea what he'll sign for or with who. Just sit back and watch and stop pretending your idea is the right one.
  21. Ryan Noda is having a crazy season at the dish so far. BB% - 29.6 K% - 22.5 ISO - 0.097 AVG - .183 OBP - .458 SLG - .280 wRC+ 135 Kacy Clemens has been awful in Dunedin.
  22. I'm going to assume you left me off the list of potential guests - over the likes of Gruber, Dogg and BBBB simply because you know I have 3 kids under the age of 7 and a crazy work schedule - thus leaving no time to commit to this interesting endeavor. Otherwise, it would appear my existence on this board is neither memorable nor entertaining. That said - I'd listen.
  23. Fine. Let's just revise it to "if we take another catcher early in the draft - I'm going to be upset"
  24. 1.4 WAR in 231 PA's as a Blue Jay. That's something I can support in-spite of his obvious flaws. I'm probably most disappointed in his defense. I thought he'd become above average when moved to the corner, but he looks lost at times.
