    David Wright is 10 games into rehab at A+ ball. You have to admire his drive and commitment to returning to baseball. 52.2 Career WAR in about 11 full seasons. Injuries have robbed him from what probably would have been a HOF career. He's set for life financially, yet he still gets up everyday trying to work his way back to the majors. Tip the cap.

    Gurriel's 2018 BABIP - .354 Travis's 2016 BABIP - .358 Travis's 2015 BABIP - .347 *2015 and 2016 were used as those are the last 2 years that Travis was an above average hitter.

    I'm not saying this is right, but I saw it put this way. If you are going to bring back JD on a QO at $18M, he's probably playing 1st or DH'ing with Vlad getting most of the reps at 3rd. To have that spot, you may be eating Morales's $11M contract (releasing him or moving him with $$ for nothing). That means you may be paying $29M for the change that JD bounces back and you can get some prospects for him on an expiring contract. Considering what teams got for expiring deals this year (which was next to nothing) and that Moose just got $6.5M on a 1 year deal this offseason as a FA. That's a hefty price to pay.

    I was joking about Gray's ERA. But that said - it truly could be a mental break. As much as I love the advanced stats - it's a drain when you're giving up runs all the time. I suspect it's difficult to convince yourself it's all bad luck (when the advances stats tell you it is). It's like the caddy in Tin Cup.     I think he was just saying that he would preferred the Jays to be god awful (like Baltimore Orioles awful) in 2018 if it improved our chances to compete in 2021. Nobody in their right mind looks at Baltimore as the model.
