  1. This. It's like half the crowd turned on the Blue Jays game tonight for the first time since 2016.
  2. There are lots of know it all's around here man. If that bothers you and you prefer a crowd that agrees every blown save is avoidable and that Espinal is a better baseball player than Biggio then this might not be the place for you. I might suggest Facebook or Reddit.
  3. Reading GDT's when we lose is like jabbing yourself with AIDS straight to the eyeballs.
  4. I'm just saying Matt Barnes is f***ing nasty. Ripping a guy for fouling off a pitch that's way off the plate is stupid. Our hitters are up there literally hanging on for dear life, just praying for a mistake.
  5. People s***ing on the bullpen and manager is a f***ing joke. That's out first loss when leading in the 9th inning - on a team that lost Yates, Merryweather, Castro, Borucki, Romano, Dolis, etc. at one point or another. I don't like Charlie - but him and this bullpen deserve credit when credit is due. Expecting perfection is just plain stupid. It's like they've never watched or followed baseball before.
  6. Do you realize how good Matt Barnes is? 1.2 WAR in 20 innings this year. More WAR than Ryu over 46 innings - and Ryu's been great this year.
  7. Is this a result of making our board more visible on Google? Atrocious
  8. You want our 3rd best relief pitcher facing the heart of the order in the 7th instead? I don't like Charlie at all - but he handled this just fine. His players didn't execute. It happens.
  9. This is spot on. All you f***s bitching that Montoyo is an idiot are dumn. Our best relievers pitched through the heart of the lineup. Our 3rd best pen arm came in to face the 8, 9 and 1 hitters. Charlie played this well. Dolis is coming off the DL and didn't have it tonight. You can argue that it 'looked' like Dolis didn't have it and Montoyo should have pulled him right away...but f*** me - does Dolis ever look like he's completely in control? Baseball happens - grow up.
  10. The Red Sox broadcast team is f***ing horrendous. Dolis has some of the most unhittable stuff in baseball....he just doesn't know where it's going. JD hit a slider - they should look up how much success batters have had v. his slider over the past 2 years. ****s.
  11. f*** I was just saying that to my wife too - and we're not high. They aren't there, so the TV they are watching it on is ahead of us right?
  12. what the f*** is wrong with you? stop this unnecessary trolling.
  13. Gausman is a force - but it also seems that the Giants are successfully bringing a ton of pitchers back from the dead. They've made Gausman into a near ace. Cueto Sanchez DeSclafani Alex Wood All of them are back having good seasons. Sanchez is somehow doing it while hardly breaking 90. They're either just getting very luck right now, or their staff deserve a s*** ton of credit.
  14. Can we please play the Twins before they turn their season around? Thanks.
  15. WTF is wrong with Luis Castillo?
  16. Jim - almost every FA contract becomes an albatross at some point. You get to add one of the very best players in baseball instantly. You don't have the crapshoot or the time it takes to drafting and development. You also don't have to give up prospect capital like you do via trade. Dealing with a someone who is overpaid and underperforming for the last year or 2 of the contract is the price you pay to get 4 or 5 great years from a great player who cost nothing but $.
  17. Panik is in the 34th percentile for max exit velocity (32nd percentile in 2020, 28th percentile for avg exit velocity). Espinal is in the 26th percentile for max exit velocity this year, while his average exit velocity was almost identical to Panik in 2020. I think we're splitting hairs here - neither guy hits it hard.
  18. I think it's times like this that make most of us cringe at the thought of adding Albert Pujols to the team because of things like respect, leadership and mentorship.
  19. Most underrated player in baseball?
  20. That is awesome - thanks for sharing. I really miss Gibby. I think I've told this story before, but I took my son to see the Jays play the Twins in Spring Training. It was in Fort Myers and my son was only 7 at the time. We tried to get their early to get autographs, but we got stuck in traffic and were a little late. In most stadiums you can get autographs up until the national anthem, but in the Twins stadium, we got ushered back away about 10-15 minutes earlier so we missed out before the game. As soon as it was over, we rushed down and waited patiently in line to get an autograph, but the kid in front of mine was the last one to get one. My son was devastated. I asked an usher where the visiting teams bus was. He showed us where it was, but there was no public access. We had to stand at the top of the catwalk. We watched all the Jays walk to the bus after the game, but the buses were so loud they couldn't hear us at all. We were hollering at them, but it was no use. They all boarded the bus without even looking up at us. My son was very upset, but luckily a security guard saw us up top and saw up upset my son was. He motioned for me to toss a ball down, which I did. Just before they were about to leave, the guard took the ball on the bus and came back with a signed ball. As he threw it back up to us, old Gibby emerged from the bus to give us a wave and the thumbs up. Gibby had signed the ball for my son and saved the day. Turned our experience right around. He still has the ball displayed in his room. Baseball needs Gibby IMO.
  21. His career BB% is 8.8 and it was over 12% last year. I think you're caught up in a SSS to start this year (at the plate). On the mound, of course he needs more control. He didn't have issues in Japan and is obviously working his way back from all the injuries. Give him some time. I somewhat expect him to have a similar career to Darvish on the mound.
  22. It is pretty insane that he's leading the league in home runs and has a 2.10 ERA. It's obviously an interesting argument. If Ohtani played RF full time, he's probably a 6+ WAR player. If that didn't have any major impact on his ability to pitch every 5 days, there's a real possibility we could see a 10-12 WAR season or two and he could indeed be more valuable than Trout. That said, there's probably a good chance playing RF full time would impact his effectiveness on the mound. I would like to see them remove the reigns and let him start in RF 3 times a week, DH 2-3 times, while still making a weekly start. The sky is the limit of this kid if he can stay healthy. Baseball needs something like this. We need Ohtani to become a horse who's healthy and dominant and doing things that nobody has seen before.
