  1. I don't think the Jays will be able to fix Vlad. He's a f***ing loser. Biggest waste of talent in the MLB in the past 20 years (maybe ever?). I'm told the team can't force him to lose weight or train properly in the offseason. He isn't coachable - I'm told he won't listen to anything the FO or coach staff tells him and just wants his Uncle to coach him (and tell him what he wants to hear). It also appears he's too f***ing stupid to realize there's a major issue that he needs to address, so it seems doubtful he'll change his routine. He'll be f***ing around in the DR all winter with his buddies, playing home run derby on some s***** sandlot. He's either too stupid, doesn't care, or both. Trade him now before he repeats 2023 and the league knows he's a joke. Someone has to think right now that they can buy low and turn him into 2021 Vlad again - take advantage of that. And what's hilarious is the Manoah situation may actually be worse than the Vlad situation! That fat f*** is clueless. You just know he was a f***ing loser in HS and College - he was probably a virgin going into College. The big, tall, awkward, overweight guy with no friends. Suddenly he grows into his body a bit, has some great results on the mound, gets drafted in the 1st round and now that he has some money, he decides to change his personality. He goes out and gets a massive arm tattoo and decides to be the guy with the big attitude and ego who's a mean, tough dude. Until he eats himself out of the majors and now is going through an identity crisis where he's a loser once again and everyone hates him. Keep Kirk if you want. He seems to be the one you could fix. Had a kid right before seasons started and that probably f***ed with him sleeping habits and was stressful to be away from the family all year. Firing coaches is a joke, but I get that will happen. Wish MLB was more like the NFL were players contracts aren't guaranteed and there are consequences for s***** results. Hold the players accountable. No FO is going to be able to overcome the complete collapse of 3 young star players. Unfortunately, it's over, restart.
  2. Blow it up and rebuild. There are way too many issues to fix in the next year or 2. It's not reasonable to expect anyone to fix all the issues with Manoah, Vlad, Kirk (those guys all have a LIST of issues to fix) and the Jays aren't going to win anything if those guys give us like 2 WAR again. Oh and then we have to fill major holes at 3rd and LF. There are far to many losers on this team. Hold the players accountable and trade Vlad, Kirk and Manoah for whatever you can get - can't allow an environment where there's no consequences for being obese and/or braindead. Trade everyone with value - Gausman, Bo, Berrios, Romano, Mayza, Swanson, Jansen, Kikucci, Springer. Sell high on Davis Schneider. I know this won't happen, but I think it should unfortunately. Sometimes things just don't break your way. Cut your losses now.
  3. Oh for sure the FO deserves some of the blame. So does the manager and the players. How much? Beats me, but I think most of it falls on the players. Does blame need to be assigned to this entire season? Probably not. Some of it is just bad luck/timing that it out of the control of various parties. Sometimes a lot of people can do the right thing and it still fails. That's how probabilities work.
  4. It's almost like getting mad and showing frustration in front of a reporter doesn't actually solve or do anything. We have no idea if those conversations are happening behind closed doors (or whether they have any impact on results either way).
  5. I see Baseball Savant has changed their layout. Anyone know what the numbers in grey, immediately to the right of the percentile circle means? I don't personally like this new layout FWIW.
  6. An optimistic person would simply suggest "they're due" and I mean, we're really due. Maybe all those big hits will come over a nice 6 week period?
  7. judging people based on what they say to the media...is a joke.
  8. I have to think the output by those 3 had about a 5-10% probability of happening. All 3 were sub 92 wRC+ hitters when the Braves traded for them. Soler and Rosario put up wRC+'s above 130 after the trade and of course all 3 came up huge in the playoffs. There was probably a 90% chance those 3 came in and did jack s*** to help the team and they missed the playoffs. It's a great example of how much luck and timing is involved in baseball. DeJong was having a better season than Soler, Roserio and Pederson at the time we acquired him. Could you imagine if he was pumping a 135 wRC+ right now? Even Jordan Luplow is hitting well for the Twins right now and was batting cleanup for them. That said, we do have our own version of the Braves 3 acquisitions on the team right now in Schneider, Horwitz and Clement. We're getting way more out of them than anyone would have expected. If we sneak into the playoffs like the 2021 Braves and those 3 play pivotal roles on our way to a deep playoff run - will the FO get kudos for adding them to the team also? I would probably argue that neither AA or Atkins would deserve a ton of credit - besides the fact they had, or acquired more 'depth' and gave themselves a higher chance of striking gold. At the end of the day, they will have hit the ace on the river when there was a 10% chance of winning the hand.
  9. I generally agree with this. If you sneak into the playoffs, there's always a chance of getting hot at the right time and people sure love to say "pitching and defense wins in the playoffs" - which we have. But my expectations are almost non-existent if we do sneak in. In the past, I would have spent some big bucks to go to playoff games and/or take my kids for the experience, but I can't see doing that this year. I am excited to watch the playoffs though. Lots of really good, exciting teams to follow.
  10. Attendance is always low in September. There are more reno's on their way, which will keep people interested in coming to see what it's all about and there are tons of rich people/corporations in Toronto to purchase the new expensive seats. Sucks for the average family, but professional sports haven't been targeting families for a long time now.
  11. That's quite true. I love AA, but he was certainly still learning the craft while in TO. Smart guy though - went to LA, learned from that FO for a bit, before stepping into a perfect situation where he inherited a team is a great position. Kudos to him that he's been able to sustain success and brought home a championship.
  12. The numbers suggest this isn't really true. It may be true for you, but there are tons of people at the games.
  13. They still face each other 6 times don't they? We probably need one of them to win 5+ games. A split may no longer help us.
  14. Of interest, attendance is up to over 37K per game this year (3rd highest in the AL). Highest since 2016/2017 and higher than it was in 2015. 3rd highest average in the last 28 years. I suspect Rogers is thrilled with the job Shapiro has done. While I agree the cost to attend a game has increased, it's still cheap compared to Leafs/Raps. Most MLB teams are targeting a different audience these days and it appears to be working just fine.
  15. You forgot that Atkins should have solid high on Manoah last offseason and ought to have known he's s*** the bed and wasn't someone you should build around. I'm also not sure why excuses aren't allowed? If an excuse is simply a reasonable explanation for the outcome - why isn't that allowed? People who think there should never be excuses for failure are dumb.
  16. Basing your opinions off what someone says in an interview if f***ing stupid Olerud. Be better. We have a Top 5 pitching staff in all of baseball and we have fans suggesting the FO and Manager are morons and have no idea how to manage a bullpen. I get people are frustrated, but enough with the nonsense.
  17. You have no idea when Atkins leaves work or how much passion he has. And obviously he relies on the team around him for most of the information as no one single person would be able to do it all. Is this FO smarter than others within baseball? Really hard to know with any conviction. I mean we're obviously not the Rockies, but we're also not the Dodgers. I would certainly seem like we're in the top 30%.
  18. You're questioning their use of the bullpen and when they pull starters - firmly opining that they aren't doing it right. I guarantee you they have better information and are making decisions based off that information. Is it perfect? Obviously not. Is there still a probability of failure? Of course there is. Are there several factors that may play into those decisions that you aren't privy to? Of course there are. Pretending they are morons and continue to make lots of low percentage decisions is dumb. Having such a firm position on this is dumb. Don't be dumb.
  19. He's been on fire ever since the Philly fans gave him the stand ovation for simply playing like s***.
  20. So they aren't morons, they are really smart people who make the wrong decisions a good amount of the time. Got it. It's obvious that it's never crossed your mind that the people running the multi million dollar business might have better information than you and that explains why you don't think the moves made make any sense because you don't have the right information. That's really sad.
  21. That isn't really how baseball works. Top teams don't beat bottom teams 10-0 every game.
  22. You never played baseball eh? A couple of different bounces and we easily could have been 12-3. See how easy (and stupid) that is?
  23. You want to hire Buck so he can be 'tough' with a group of adults? Good luck with that. Buck is also a moron.
  24. Buck Martinez? How about no.
