  1. Super encouraging to see how efficient Barrett has been so far. New life in his career perhaps. Hope it continues.
  2. Offseason isn't over yet and I'm not sure that's true - but thanks for your opinion Dick.
  3. You have to love Darko's passion.
  4. Agreed. Hard to look past George Kirby also.
  5. Same. I really hope Varsho takes his meaty cock and shoves it right up that haters raw brown star, sans lube - on his way to another 4.5+ WAR season. That, combined with a WC birth that turns into winning multiple playoff rounds (maybe even the WS) would simply be sublime.

Interesting. This could be huge for Anaheim.

Isn't the question whether or not Cutter will sign with a team or play 2 more years in College and become a FA?
  8. Yeah - after Billy told him to off his pedestal and Jonah Hill showed him how much better he is when he doesn't swing
  9. Man - how good would 2021/2022 Turner be for this team? Start 60-90 games at 3rd and DH the rest. 125 wRC+ If only he could turn back the clock.
  10. Billy Beane to David Justice conversation maybe?
  11. f***ing right buddy! Pack and Bills win - it was a beautiful day all around. I don't know what they did, but Love flipped the switch midseason and went from having some major accuracy issues to this completely locked in beast. 18 TD, 1 INT over his last 8 games. 4000+ yards, 36 TDs (total), 11 INT on the season with a very young, inexperienced offense is incredible. Reed, Wicks, Musgrove, Kraft is one hell of an offensive draft + Watson and Doubs - the offense should be loaded for awhile. Regardless of what happens next week - this season has been a massive win for the Packers.
  12. I mean - does he have a choice? I agree that hedging your bets a bit is always a good idea, but you can't hedge all 4 of those players....there's no way to cover them all in the event they suck like they did in 2023.
  13. How many HR's does Bonds hit if he played at new Yankee Stadium his whole career? 1,000+? It's probably not that high, as it's not like Bonds hit a lot of wall scrappers, but Oracle is like death to most lefties.
  14. I agree - he's been volatile, so unless there's something to prove he figured something out last year, it's a bit scary locking in a DH for more than 1 or 2 years - even if you think he can stand out there in LF a bit like Schwarber. Joc has been a bit similar...he went through a funk for like 3 years, then lit it up in 2022 and fell back to earth a bit last year (although the peripheral numbers were still pretty good). I honestly think you wait this s*** out and sign whomever is left out of JDM, Joc, Soler, Hoskins. Not sure you want to commit more than 1 year for any of them. If I have to go 2 years with any of them, it's probably Soler
  15. Sorry - I should have clarified that we'd be getting these guy on short term deals as the market for them simply doesn't appear to have formed. There certainly seems to be A LOT of sluggers who can't field who are still available and spring training isn't far away (just got tickets to see the Braves / O's at the new stadium in North Port). Could you get either Teo or Soler 2 years $30M and then Hoskins or Joc for 1 year $15M?
  16. Would a combination of Teo and then either Soler or Joc add enough umph to the lineup? KK acts as the 4th OFer and Biggio/Schneider/IKF fight it for AB's at 2nd and 3rd?
  17. This will shock you, but Mark Feinsand of MLB is reporting the Blue Jays are showing interest in Soler.
  18. Is there a link to this? or are you just assuming?
  19. Maybe we're just going to go max tiddies on the pitching side of things. What better way to attract Snell and Hader than to show them we're putting KK back in CF with Varsho in LF and IKF at 3rd. You don't need to score as many runs if you don't give any up.
  20. Yeah - that probably makes sense. The "kid" is probably that initial nerd who drafts up the list, which would then be vetted by AGM's and eventually Atkins. I envision Jonah Hill working his magic and handing the AGM with 51 player evaluations, instead of the 3 that was requested. I guess for that young nerd - that's his time to shine - to find the needle in the haystack and one way to prove his worth.
  21. I wonder who's in charge of hunting down players to sign to minor league deals (with ST invites). Does Atkins delegate that to some young intern and tell him to scour the bottom of the FA list, looking for players with a glimmer of upside to fill depth holes and then go out and try to convince them that Toronto is the best place for them to get a shot? This must be one of the least glorious components of the position.
  22. Go play in traffic. Creep.
  23. Hell of a start to the 2024 Around Baseball thread...
