  1. Can't an option be for there to be a dedicated thread that is in the "Toronto Blue Jays Talk" subform - instead of separate threads for each rumour? In the past, rumours would just go under the "Offseason Roster Thread" or "General Blue Jays Discussion". Could either go there, or have it's own "Blue Jays Rumours" thread? I don't think anyone wants it in some other subforum (voting to date confirms this). The old board was built on massive, long threads. I don't love having lots of small, random threads, but I guess if that's preferred or "better" then that's the way it will be.
  2. Brutal day for them. Now a tough matchup v. the Eagles. Probably the end of the road on what's been a fun season. Youngest team in the league though. Bright future still.
  3. Sorry - I used to play a ton of fantasy sports. It's not my thing anymore.
  4. True. My though was that in general, all the fantasy/betting threads could all go together. I'm not even sure where all your other ongoing fantasy threads ended up in the move...
  5. Great - but people asked about the Around Baseball and MiLB/Prospects threads to be moved into this subthreads for the same reason and were told no - that people wanted more organization and such. To be clear - none of it matters to me. I'll stop asking questions I guess.
  6. Man - we're just all trying to figure out the new board. Don't be a c*unt. People asked for "Around Baseball" to be in this subthread and were told no. Consistency seems like a fair request.
  7. If we're trying to compete this year, we need a closer, not a guy who's going to "try" to convert to a starter. If we're not trying to compete, then give Hoffman the 5th spot - if it works out, there could be good value available.
  8. Can you please consolidate your below average jokes into a single post? You look like Olerud. Has Olerud made it to the new board yet?
  9. While we're talking board setup - can we move all the fantasy sports talk to it's own area? I don't think it belongs in the main "Toronto Blue Jays Talk" section. Just a thought. You could have fantasy and betting on its own.
  10. I seem to recall several "new threads" being merged and moved into other existing threads where they belonged to avoid clutter. This is just a lot different than the other board. If this is what people want then whatever, but nobody should be surprised that people are speaking up and questioning this new approach.
  11. It was already posted in the former Jays thread - where it belongs
  12. I certainly do not want new threads every time some mindless rumour is posted by someone looking for clicks.
  13. The incentive is him getting paid... Legit reporters stretch the truth all the time now. Look at Morosi. Almost nothing he reports is true or accurate. It's all about headlines and clicks now.
  14. Just another aimless report from some nobody who needs to create content to get paid. People use this stuff to create rage. We can probably just conclude the Jays are interested in every remaining FA (except Jay Jackson). I would hope Atkins (and any GM out there who's looking to compete) is interested and checking in on all the remaining important FAs. That's kind of their job. At this point, it just seems so far fetched for the Jays to just start landing multiple big name guys.

Cool little video about improvements Trent Thornton made. I hope most our fringe RPers spent the off-season in a lab...
  16. Hard to comment without knowing how much communication there has been already, but I generally agree with you. Perhaps they were "close" enough to give Atkins confidence that they were going to get something done - and then Soto changed the market? Or perhaps Atkins just got bit in the ass - believing Vlad was just posturing - asking for a lot, whereas the Jays believed it was just a "shoot for the stars" request, only for Soto to change the market and now they are f***ed. One thing to consider is the Jays can't force Vlad to discuss or resolve this. They can ask, but if he doesn't get serious about discussing it, they can't get anywhere. Again, perhaps they should have s*** or gotten off the pot earlier - concluding Vlad wouldn't ever get serious with them, or perhaps he's been stringing them along (playing them one might say), suggesting he'd be willing to have serious negotiations this offseason. Who knows.
  17. Report: Blue Jays make offer to Santander https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3178909
  18. I like this idea + Moncada at 3rd, if they have the money to do this + a couple BP arms and a depth starter like Lance Lynn. That seems like a ton of moves that need to fall into place. Ugggh
  19. I think everyone understands that. It's just there are scenarios where he'll be worth as much, or possibly more (slimmer chance, but could happen) at the deadline. That does allow the Jays to defer that decision and play out the 1st half of the season and see what happens. If Rogers wants butts in seats, this may ultimately be what happens. As you note, there are obvious risks in that approach - and Atkins hands could be somewhat tied. It would be interesting to know just "how much more" teams would give us right now v. at the deadline - assuming he has another strong season. Is it 10% more value? 25%? 50%?

Thanks for pointing this out - I spent a lot of time yesterday looking at who was left off this team and it seems mind boggling. In addition to the names already noted, how do they leave Beckett Sennecke off the roster? 3rd overall pick in the draft last year? Get Dave Cameron away from this program.
  21. Shouldn't this be moved into one of the several threads about Tony Salamander?
  22. He's just saying it would be the ideal situation for the Jays to get "the most" in return for Vlad.
  23. It is, but there are like 4-5 main threads that everyone looks at (I assume). Around Baseball and the MiLB/Prospect threads are in that group. If we want to keep GDT's and stuff like that separate, I get it, but to check the main threads, it's a lot more clicking now. That said - love the new site and I'm sure this is just most of us getting used to a new system.
  24. To be fair, the uniforms have essentially been the same from 2012 to now and use the "2019-Present" logo. I'm not sure why this illustration suggests a difference between 2012-2019 and 2019-Present. The Jays still use the 2012-2019 logo - it was on the front of the Springer hockey jersey's last year. Either way - the revamp in 2012 was amazing and much needed. I think the Jays rock some of the best threads in MLB. Everything we did from 1997-2011 was horrendous.
