  1. Jordan Lawler gets the call up to Arizona. Can't wait to see what this kid becomes.
  2. Glad you're seeing the light my friend. I don't expect we see Ricky T on very many Top 100 lists this year. One list doesn't reflect the "industry".
  3. Because we blew a couple of games and if you can't blame someone for that - what's the point of living?
  4. Yeah - he's Schwarber lite and yes, unless Bo turns the corner and starts hitting for power, we are short on star power. We may still be short even if Bo rebounds. Kirk and Gimenez are more valuable than they get credit for, but we need more offensively from both.
  5. Santander is a star in the way Kyle Schwarber is. And if you believe connorp's view that offense is worth more than defense, especially in the playoffs than Santander is clearly a star (and yes it's subjective what a star is).
  6. Might save the sanity of these poor writers if you could provide all the revenue for the site Term...
  7. I think the issue is he knows every win matters. Margin of error for this team is razer thin. So far, he's riding his best and is willing to live and die with his best on the board. Before the recent hiccups, those guys had been nails. Then they were overused. I fully expect he'll try and walk that tight rope balancing act of pushing your best guys and overusing them. It's not like he has several other reliable options (although Little and Fluharty have both really stepped up). God knows if he was being too conservative with his pen use - trying to save guys and that was costing us games - fans would be livid... Unfortunately, it's a tough spot. That said, I LOVED Gibby and thought he managed the pen really well. Always room for improvement, but he's in a tough spot IMO.
  8. Demonizing America? Give it break. Threatening our sovereignty has consequences. And don't bring politics in here please.
  9. Nothing to show for it tonight, but Varsho is swinging it well. Really hope it's sustainable.
  10. You were banging that drum all off-season. I remember that. I don't remember any T&F but I could be wrong. I think most thought they needed to aim higher and others thought it would be hard to convince him to sign here knowing he'd be a 6th or 7th starter, coming out of the bullpen. So far he's been great value for the Mets. Will be interesting to see if he can keep it up.
  11. You're making a mountain out of a mile hill...

This suggests he's not throwing as hard to try and regain his command. That's likely screwing up his stuff+ metrics. Very odd situation.
  13. SD is beating Colorado 21-0 in the 8th...
  14. Probably why nobody is doing that.
  15. I enjoy seeing Barger get some regular playing time. Curious to see what he can be.
  16. That's probably worse than being told to play 1st base...
  17. Very odd situation. My initial reaction is he's a spoiled brat. Do what you're asked to do to help the team - especially when you're clearly a below average defender at 3rd. But - I do think you have to understand the communication before you draw that conclusion. The team needs to articulate the plan to Devers and gain his support/respect. Then if they want to change the plan, they again need to speak with him and help him understand why it's changed. That's what leadership does. If they've done that and he still refuses and then runs his mouth to the media, then f*ck him!
  18. I was thinking that this morning... Hey don't worry Brock. If everything works out, people will care about the Jays in 2029 again. You'll get a return on your investment then...
  19. We're now projected to win 79 games, 5th last in the AL and even that seems like the projects are still artificially inflated by pre-season expectations. Remember when the projection systems thought the entire lineup was going to be > 100 wRC+?
