  1. I just took a lot at the Yankees top prospects. Man they have a ton of pitching prospects! What is a reasonable, in who they would send for Stroman? Like if the Jays only wanted pitching in return, what is a plausible get? Garcia and Schmidt? Schmidt and a lower prospect?
  2. In the high minors, have any pitchers? I'd rather see SRF struggle than Edwin. SRF might need some MLB innings to get better.
  3. I concur. I signed up when they had a promotion in December, and I have been very happy with the quality of articles from a wide range of authors. I have no regrets, and I will definitely renew.
  4. With Zeuch in AAA, I wonder if he will be called up soon. If he has 2 successful starts, do you think he is up?
  5. This is a really great, toughtful, post. Thank you. I will also add, nothing empirical, but the notion that Grichuk may be the type of player who thrives when there are some really solid players in the batting lineup. I just feel that he would exceed expectations on a good team.
  6. Would you guys do this trade? The Atlanta Braves get Stroman, Giles and reliever Joe Biagini and the Jays get centre fielder Ender Inciarte, pitching prospect Kyle Wright, lefty Sean Newcomb and reliever Touki Toussaint.
  7. Osuna was absolutely toxic when he was traded, so I totally agree with you. I thought he would be released. So do get anything was surprising. It's a trade up there with getting JD and trading Wells somehow. Three of my fave lopsided Jays trades.
  8. I agree. For me one impact OF, two solid SP's (in addition to Shoemaker, whom they should pay to play next year) which may include an extension for Stroman. It's a tough sell with Sanchez represented by Boras, but I try to extend him and make him a reliever. His nail might not fall off quite so often.
  9. That would be amazing. I'd be happy with an AA or AAA starter that has a change to be mid-rotation or a little better plus some young pups that may become something. Or a decent SP prospect and an OF that has more tools and potential than our current crop.
  10. I think that is pessimistic. A .500 team right now would be in playoff hunt. By next year, with a few additions, a few games above .500 isn't impossible by any stretch.
  11. My preference would be to trade players separately. I agree that it tends to bring back more value. I would much rather extend Stroman than trade him. Giles to SD, would that be enough to bring back a couple of really solid prospects? I'd want a good, young SP for sure. NO MORE INFIELDERS.
  12. I remember thinking all off-season, hey, no matter how bad the Jays do it'll be exciting watching the kids all play. Well, it's not even June and this young team is depressing me. Ugh. It's hard to see the big picture.
  13. At this pace, the Jays will need to sign at least two decent starters going forward. Man, I hope they can somehow extend Stroman.
  14. I think that would be an overpay. I dunno if it would work, but $3M and then a $5M for 2021.
  15. I'd love to trade him over extending him. But if he were to extend for next to nothing, and let's be real, players like Smoak at the moment are commanding next to nothing, he'd be a decent middle of the lineup bat to protect some of the kids like Biggio and Vlad.
  16. If he stays a Jay, and stay down until he's 24-years old, the 2019 season is not going to make or break him. Unless he is super weak mentally. In which case, pitching in the bigs may not be for him.
  17. You don't think the Jays have tried that?
  18. f***ing finally! I'd keep Drury up. He's coming around and plays solidly wherever he goes. This would be a great time to trade Smoak. Get the kids more reps. But I am also open to extending Smoak.
  19. That's right, a potential elite arm has no place on a WS contending team. You must think the Jays are a contender, right? And not an awful, rebuilding team, who after this year can allow this kid to develop into (potentially) an elite pitcher with a few years development in the farm system?
  20. Okay, I plan to watch it a little more during the commercial break.
  21. Is it sad that I just watched this about 40 times in a row? And I am sober? Can someone please post the exit velo on the second one? I'd say > 113 mph
  22. Yes, totally agree. I think he is less likely to through through waivers and up in in AAA, but I would love to get him there. He could provide great org depth and if he has success in yet another stint in AAA you may become a legit MLB player with the Jays one day. Right now, I call up Biggio and Gurriel, period, though. Find a way to get those guys playing 80%+ of games. Demote McKinley and Brito, and try to get them through. I am a little surprised Hansen got through. He put up decent numbers last year.
  23. I don't know why, but when you call him Gurribabip I literally want to slash up. No one uses it, no one will, it feels forced, and it's not clever.
  24. I like Pillar a lot, but he didn't make sense on this team, especially with higher ceiling Alford nipping at his heels. I want this year to be used to see what we have, test out the kids. Pillar just didn't belong with the current mission statement.
