  1. That makes more sense. The article had sort of a high school author kind of vibe to me. The Morales section is just weak writing. Grichuk has done amazingly well post-injury after that atrocious start. I'll bet he's hitting close to .300 if you subtract April.
  2. How do you define tools? Then I can explain to you with sock puppets.
  3. Alford has all the tools to be an above average OF. I think he will explode next year and prove you wrong.
  4. Lefties without pure stuff can do better than righties, typically. If he has control, and 3-4 pitches, I don't see why he couldn't be a decent back end SP. It seems to me he has the right mentality to succeed at the MLB. I would start him over Estrada at this point.
  5. I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone on this board who really wants to keep Pillar. He is so redundant and it is clear he is declining (29 and decline). Alford, Pompey, Grichuk, etc., make him very redundant and expendable. I would love to get a decent prospect for him personally.
  6. I see Alford can be called up to the show. Only 40-man who isn't up is Pompey. Pompey is done as a Jay, isn't he? Alford still is one of our top prospects, despite having a s***** year. FA aside, who do you like to be starting in the OF come April, 2019? For me, currently, it's McKinney, Alford and Grichuk. Hernandez 4th OF/DH. I would try like f*** to try Morales and Pillar this off-season. If Morales is traded, maybe Pompey 4th OF and that way Hernandez can DH, emergency OF.
  7. Super helpful, thanks! I typically get the ticket up on my phone, take a capture (in PHOTOS) to always have a copy of the bar code. For some reason I couldn't determine if Yankee Stadium took phone bar codes. You have answered this ?
  8. I'm planning on checking a Jays game or two in NYC this weekend. I'll be using Stub Hub. Do I need to print the tickets out, or is an e-ticket sufficient? I've never been to Yankee stadium.
  9. Hey, do you think it would be okay to create a thread for each position for 2019+ ? Possible thread header, "2019 Blue Jays, CATCHER". Then we can discuss all aspects, possibilities, opinions, for that position, etc. It'd mean way more threads, but the threads would (presumably) be pretty focused. On that topic, going forward, I guess Jansen is the primary catcher with Martin backing up. Maile has options, and McGuire can season a bit on the farm. But what if we ate 90% of Martin's salary to facilitate a trade? Get a low level prospect with upside maybe. Since 2019 may be a tire fire anyway, I would like Maile and Jansen as the catchers moving forward.
  10. Girardi has been my pick for a while. Schneider makes sense, manager of the year, in the system, knows a lot of the players. Do either one of them speak Spanish? That needs to be a required skill I think.
  11. Urena could not be more meh to me. Why bother.
  12. Unless he's the best actor ever, and I saw his work on Vikings and he isn't, JD truly loves TO, Canada, the fans, and his time with the Blue Jays. I don't know about his relationship with Atkins, and don't care at this point. I will wear my Donaldson jersey with pride. And I hope for Cleveland to meet the Yanks in the playoffs to see EE and JD blow this s*** out of that f***ing team. I will wear my jersey as they do it.
  13. A lot of you have mentioned John Schneider as a potential manager for the Blue Jays going forward. Now he is manager of the year. And Atkins just talked about the players in the minors winning together and coming up together, like that have this season the last little bit. Would he be a decent fit as Blue Jays manager? Knows the players, system, seems to be in Atkins's good books, etc.
  14. Is there a free site that provides souting reports, FV, for prospects? Mark Leiter Jr. seems really meh, but it'd be nice to get a scouting reports on all MiLB players.
  15. Who doesn't like a bout of scurvy now and then.
  16. We get it. You don't like opinionated vegans. Talk about beating a dead horse.
  17. I know, I am pretty excited about our middle infielders, too.
  18. Jesus Christ, Donaldson won't be playing tonight due to f***ing soreness in his calves and legs (per Shi Davidi). No trade. God dammit it.
  19. I'd be down with this. We're full of middle infield prospects. If he nets us 1-2 slightly worse prospects, that include a SP, I make that deal. But I am not a real GM.
  20. I died inside, does that count?
  21. I know, right? You could have written 20 scenarios before this season started, from best to worst, and the current scenario is worse than the worst hypothetical.
  22. I agree with you. If we can build a team with solid, better than average players (1-2+ WAR), to compliment Vlad and Bichette, plus build a decent rotation, we will be in the hunt every year. Exciting, meaningful ball in September has to be the goal right now.
  23. I wonder if the FO might consider Stubby Clapp for manager going forward? Good Canadian kid and 2017 AAA Manager of the Year. No small accolade.
