  1. He has been our worst pitcher this year with over 10 starts. Knuckleball and fastball velocity continuing to drop since leaving the Mets. A measly 1.5 K/BB. The highest home run to fly ball ratio of his career at 13%. 4.85 xFIP. Over 5 ERA. 1.39 WHIP and a whopping -0.2 WAR His BABIP of 0.273 is in the norm so he hasn't been unlucky. Just bad. This is not even getting into the harder things to quantify that hurt this team like the roster construction that is needed around him (or what management thinks they need), the negative impact it has on the offensive side of Russell Martins game as well as DAT clubhouse culture. Josh Donaldson who is one of the greatest players off all-time to play for the Jays has one locker and this guy gets two. I don't get it.
  2. Dickey's WAR will be BELOW replacement after this game.
  3. This Dickey has two lockers and Josh Donaldson has one.
  4. Yes it certainly does. Even if contending, Dickey needs to be off this roster.
  5. Everything Hutch is throwing is middle up. It is going to be a long night.
  6. You have to roll with my luck for now and the bonus is it will piss off jaysforlife19. The irony is the simpler game day threads have a greater winning % than those game threads made by people that take pride in making them.
  7. Location: 7:07 PM @ Rogers Centre TV: SNET Radio: SN590, Sirius 216 The Toronto Blue Jays will send red-hot starter Marco Estrada to the hill on Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox. Estrada (5-3, 3.45 ERA) has taken a no-hitter into the eighth inning during back-to-back starts. On Wednesday against the Rays, Estrada was perfect through seven frames until he allowed an infield single with one out in the eighth. The right-hander is the first Blue Jays pitcher to carry a no-hitter in consecutive starts since Dave Stieb did it in 1988. The Red Sox will counter with Eduardo Rodriguez. The left-hander will look to bounce back from his start vs. the Orioles on Thursday, when he allowed six earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. Rodriguez (3-2, 4.33 ERA) is 2-0 with a 0.45 ERA in three road starts. Three things to know about this game • On June 14 vs. Toronto at Fenway Park, Rodriguez allowed nine earned runs on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings in the Blue Jays' 13-5 win. • Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts extended his hitting streak to six games on Monday. Since May 31, he is batting .339 in the past 28 games. • Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson continues to swing a hot bat. The 29-year-old leads the American League in extra-base hits at home with 27. Donaldson added to his lead with a double in the sixth inning on Monday night. 9. I totally forgot about Lind until this thread bump.
  10. How do complete morons like C.B. Bucknor get employed by MLB?
  11. This might be a good thing with Cecil because now the coaches should realize he shouldn't be closing games.
  12. Cecil should never close another game this year again.
  13. Hopefully we get out of this and it ends the Cecil closer experiment for good.
  14. There were about a handful of calls, once really egregious call which would have ended the inning. The bases loaded with all walks should have never happened. Dickey had some struggles the first two innings but looked really sharp after the 3rd.
  15. They were amicable conversations,” Dickey said after working 7 1/3 innings in Toronto’s 7-1 win. “But at the same time, I needed to get a point across and make sure that he understood that (the knuckleball) was moving a lot tonight, and Russ was doing a great job back there. He even admittedly didn’t call one of those strikes a strike three because Russ didn’t catch it. So we had a good conversation about that.” That 3-2 pitch on Ruben Tejada in the second occupied much of the first discussion between Dickey and Wegner. Dickey said some umpires, as a matter of “baseball etiquette, will not call a strike on a pitch the catcher misses because they believe it makes them look bad. Others ignore that tradition. http://news.nationalpost.com/sports/toronto-blue-jays-finally-give-r-a-dickey-some-back-up-in-win-over-new-york-mets Wow! That ump should be suspended and it proves once again they are the worst officials in professional sports.
  16. Gibbons sure has been terrible. For all the hate on Farrell, sad to say, Gibbons has been worse with also more talent to work with.
  17. When did Cito put his best reliever when he had a 3, 4 or 5 run lead in previous games and then put some scrub in a high leverage 1 run inning in the 7th in the following?
  18. So you are saying John Gibbons is no different than Cito Gaston, Joe Torre, Dusty Baker and John Farrell?
  19. Gibbons constantly putting Osuno in 3-5 run leads (3 run lead in the previous game) and put f***ing Bo Schultz in a 1 run lead in 7th the next day. To be honest Gibbons has been FAR WORSE than Farrell when managing the bullpen.
  20. It's o.k to criticize but then to say the solution to Reyes is replacing him with Ryan Goins has got to be one of the dumbest things ever. Howarth loses all credibility on this one and should be embarrassed.
  21. So Spanky's day was to get up at noon, s***, maybe have something to eat and get trashed all day while watching a Toronto Blue Jays double header.
  22. Pillar isn't injured the last I checked. You think putting in our available below-replacement Goins or replacement level Kawasaki for Reyes will cost the Jays less games?
