    Well I'm seeing it that the Sox are still unfinished and still already better than they were exiting last season. They still have two or three (3B, 1B/DH) impact bat positions to fill (maybe only one if Pablo bounces back at all).

    Armchair psych analysis here: But I wonder if he's willing to play for Gibby again, as you say. Most of the crew he played with is already or likely to be gone. He was pretty much nailed to the bench at the end of 2014, right? I can't imagine he'd be too keen to play under the guy who did that again, and maybe even vice versa. I always wonder about Colby, though. The quality of each of his seasons seems to be on such extreme ends of the spectrum. I want so much to like him as a player.

    I would certainly be fine waking up one morning to find a new OF arrangement of Fowler-Pillar-Bruce/Upton. There's a non-zero chance of this happening too. That would make a lineup of the following (as I assume Gibby would put it together): Fowler (L) - RF Travis ® - 2B Donaldson ® - 3B Morales (S) - DH Tulo ® - SS Bruce (L) - LF Pearce ® - 1B Martin ® - C Pillar ® - CF

    Seems San Diego are shopping Yangervis Solarte. Maybe an option at 1B with the ability to cover 3B as well? He's a 3B by trade.

    Hitting at the top of a weak NL lineup, though I think he got some time closer to the heart of the order the more the Mets' lineup died off. 30/59 is still pretty crazy though.

    Less Moreland and more Lessland. But in all seriousness, why Moreland? I'd swap him for Smoak if his defense is as good as people are alleging, but Smoak would need to be a throw-in in a trade or something. I'm hoping it's just a slow news day and some controversial Jays content was sorely necessary. I'll always be grateful for his inability to pick that one throw, though.

    This is really a great forum in general. Sometimes I just leave the board active on my phone and then refresh every hour or so. Much easier than sifting through Twitter news. The quick info and commentary you get here is excellent.

    I don't think Moreland is worth much. I'd rather just keep Smoak on tbh.

    Barely related: Remember when Pillar was slated to get the most ABs last year? Phew. Given that the lead-off revolving door never involved Pillar again, I suspect Gibby gave Pillar the shot early on to make him shut the f*** up until even he couldn't whine about it anymore (and if it worked out, no biggy).

    I love Indian. I eat it whenever I can. I will eat almost anything and Indian is maybe one of my favourite cuisines.

    This definitely is an interesting little change to the FA class. Unless his arm is unworkable, the best pitcher in this year's class just appeared on the market overnight.

    Marte will move to CF and Meadows will take up left. I believe the consensus is that he's ready for the show? Then, if this deal lands, Robles will be the heir to CF when they flip Marte. Never ending elite Pirates OF.
