  1. More than a few people, even here, have said the Indians have been playing perfect ball. Also, sometimes I'm just crusty. Also I hate when underdogs win.
  2. Cubs-Indians game 7 tomorrow. One team trying to cap off a 103-win campaign and end a 108-year title drought. The other team, also good but beat up and making the most of every fume still in the tank, trying to salvage what was a 3-1 series lead to end a 78-year title drought. There is going to be some serious despair in one of these cities at this time tomorrow.
  3. Kris Bryant is hipster cute. Just saying.
  4. I owe you a beer at the Dome someday if it happens.
  5. I can't lie. I'm a bit annoyed that they get to run their Kluber-Miller-Allen get out of jail free card tomorrow. I think I'm probably one of the more critical posters regarding the Indians. Pisses me off that they picked up a lame-o 1-0 World Series win.
  6. Wow, thank god for replay. Perfect angle gets the correct call. Old school dinos, time to eat the meteor.
  7. Saunders' defensive badness was a revelation. Gibby was arguably managing around it by the end of the year and in the playoffs.
  8. I would kill for a handful of 3 Muskateers bars right now.
  9. That's not my door. It's just a picture from Google of the costume of the decade.
  10. Good generally but I always felt slightly disappointed with chips as a treat. Chips were a standard snack in my house so candy and chocolate was far more rare and appreciated.
  11. This kid is a fart: http://iruntheinternet.com/lulzdump/images/halloween-costume-fart-kid-fart-costume-1447672505w.jpg He even has a horn.
  12. They're fine. If not for the individual wrappers Starburst would be top candy.
  13. How does Chapman let that happen? It's the World Series dude.
  14. That Go Cubs Go song transition broke my heart.
  15. I know it's technically possible to say for any sports team's supporters, but is the prospect of waiting until the year 2124 for a championship that much more palpable for Cub fans? I say yes. I could live until 100 and still not be able to sympathize with the agony of such a sports drought as Cubs fans in 2016.
  16. Not to mention the ridiculous bone head move Davis made with the bases loaded in Game 1. Gave the Cubs an extra less-than-2-out AB with the bases loaded. Andrew Miller or bust.
  17. I don't really look at them through the lens of being a Shapiro team. I tend to forget unless something comes up to remind me. My opinion is that they're just a quality, but beaten up, club who is getting nearly all the right bounces. "Flawless" or "perfect" or other exaggerations are hardly applicable, regardless of their circumstances. I'm not even sure I agree with the idea that the 2015 Royals were some crapshoot while the 2016 Indians are Made For This. I'm not dismissing the Indians but (probably dissenting opinion) I didn't dismiss the Royals last year either. I think both teams got and are getting the bounces to complement above-average play in other areas (as well as opportune vanishing acts by their opponents). If we watched the Jays pitch and hit like this Indian team, we'd be ripping them -- in fact, this is exactly what happened in the final decisive series against Boston. Nobody was throwing around "flawless" to describe the Jays then, that's for sure. If Andrew Miller is anything other than God this past month, the probability of getting bounced by the Sox or Jays is a lot higher.
  18. Everyone keeps praising the Indians for their perfect play and I really disagree. Their pitching and defense deserves tons of credit, but flawless ball clubs don't eke by in 2-0 and 1-0 games: they put up four or five runs. Their lineup isn't doing a whole lot for them and that's getting masked by the unbelievable pitching. If the Jays were winning 10-8 games in the playoffs they'd get criticized for relying on the bats. The Tribe isn't getting enough reasonable criticism for relying on historically good pitching from a handful of performers. Where are they without Kluber and Miller's combined sub-2 ERA in like 50 innings? What if Josh Tomlin doesn't come out of nowhere to fling shut outs? Game 1 could have been a 1-0 final if not for Lester's mini-implosion in the 1st inning. Runs by game from the ALCS: 2, 2, 4, 1, 3, 6, 1, 1. That's barely over two runs per game. Less if you remove the walk-fest and swinging bunt RBI from WS Game 1 and the wild pitch in Game 2.
  19. Didn't Cespedes win an AL corner OF award last year? While Pillar came away with nothing? I'm not a fan of cutting up OF awards like this. Most of the best guys are patrolling CF anyway. The positions aren't as distinct as the individual IF jobs.
  20. Lester's inability to throw to first base is such a stupid flaw to have. Is there a mechanical thing? I don't know the whole story, if there is one.
  21. Play-by-play guy just redlined the audio on a second inning K.
  22. It was a swinging bunt. Not much worse than what the Jays hitters did without men on base in most of the ALCS games. Total luck coupled with a mini-meltdown by Lester. The Indians are a good squad but that was hardly an impressive inning.
  23. Scully is f***in 90 and still brings more energy, character, and fun than Joe Buck on his best night. Buck just states hype moments as if they just happen apart from anything else on the field. He might be the worst sports announcer I can think of.
  24. The last time the Cubs won the WS was also the year the North Pole had been reached by man. Also, there was no TV so this will be the first time a Cubs WS will be televised. Theodore Roosevelt was the President at the time.
