  1. I am curious about this league. Where can I get a look at the teams, if possible?
  2. He's having an affair with the period too if his recent behaviour is any indication.
  3. In fairness to everyone else, him being on an IL doesn't prevent him from wrecking threads. You just see a one-sided fight and then eventually silence because no one wants to wade through another drunken argument. The solution shouldn't be that the rest of us need to plug our ears harder.
  4. Almost nothing he says is funny. He just ruins threads over and over. I could have been reading a thread on Rule 5 news, but now I'm reading another barely legible page of outbursts from Chewbacca. Just like in the Edwin thread. And the Fowler thread. And a dozen others.
  5. Eh. It doesn't take that much skill to have other organizations throw great prospects at you for your elite players. The Sox accomplished pretty much nothing while having Sale for four years after his breakout, despite trying. Their last competitive season was 2012 when they got run down in the standings by a mediocre Tigers club.
  6. Seems like turning the heat way up on Edwin's agent, that he "doesn't see it" even after rejecting $80M off the bat and failing to land his client something better among any of the potential suitors thus far.
  7. He's just reading this board. I knew he was a cheat.
  8. I don't think this is the case. I think Shatkins are worthy of trust to make sound decisions but that shouldn't stop us from ripping on personnel decisions we don't like. The ones that immediately come to mind are Chavez-Hendriks and extending Smoak. There's a lot of politics that goes on with a competitive team's manager and the FO, so Gibby getting the blessing isn't necessarily a vote of confidence. Losing Bautista, Edwin and then showing Gibby the writing on the wall after two extremely exciting seasons would not only draw the frustration of fans but likely the clubhouse too. Players will understand their comrades following the cash, but they'll be pretty angry if the suits upstairs can their field general for what's perceived to be no reason at all.
  9. Forgot about the Mariners. Their order could have some combo of Cano-Cruz-Edwin-Seager if they get him. Segura and Valencia will be in there too.
  10. He'd be a back-up catcher with a little bit of pop, a fair eye at the plate, and a decent glove. I think he sounds like the perfect guy to spell Martin every fourth day if we're strictly looking at the FA pile.
  11. I still think he comes out of this with a win, but this does seem like he's getting pretty close to getting burned. I don't think the main chatter around EE at this juncture should be "are the Indians willing to pay up?"
  12. Unless the guy is skirting around the law routinely then I don't much care for character judgments. When he gets busted for DUIs or assaults then talk to me. Though I think leaving Goins with the bill in the media after that playoff error was a dick move. I don't remember if that's exactly how it played out though.
  13. I think there legit reasons to be skeptical of his performance moving forward. I thought you just meant about his character. I admit he's probably the sort of personality I'd be glad to see gone if I were his co-worker. But this is judging from what we know about him, which is fairly little (though probably more than most players).
  14. I think it's his general prickly demeanor and one too many confrontations. Add in the entitlement for a payday (which I don't blame) and his declining skills. There are a lot of reasons.. but I kind of still love him.
  15. You'd prefer to be the most in-touch poster, especially if Steve P is doing the touching.
  16. Unless Bautista's good friend is trying to drive up his price, I'm pretty skeptical until I see the baseball media vultures start whispering about it. They didn't even touch that completely fabricated 5/115M Edwin-Houston rumour from last week that people were fighting over.
  17. The Washington package is the closest bunch of guys to the majors, but Chicago probably rightfully didn't see that as enough of a selling point.
  18. Iannetta would be a perfect backup.
  19. Morales will definitely be the primary DH. Jose will go into the OF or maybe split some 1B time with Pearce. But yeah, I wouldn't mind him back either.
  20. I wonder how the Jays make up the value to compete with Robles + Giolito, even as a guess. I think the Nats are about to be all in on Cutch.
  21. Even with the back-end rotation quirks, how does that still make the Jay rotation of Aaron 'let's see you do it again' Sanchez, Marcus sinkerball Stroman, Marco slipped disc Estrada, JA Happ, and Francisco complete wild card Liriano better? I mean I like the Jays rotation more than any other in recent memory, but over Price, Sale, Porcello, even with some uncertainty behind them? No way man.
  22. Last time Boston got this much hype was the 2015-16 offseason when they landed Price and then won the division.
  23. You would say that, "ChrisS".
