  1. I disagree. If you want the most PAs on the team you need to earn it. The most frequent hitter on a major league contender is not lesson time. That's what every level of the minors is for.
  2. I'm a fan of infield seats, field level. You get a nice panorama of the whole field and the players making plays. Most action takes place in the infield anyway. Just keep your eyes on the ball. For real, put your phone away.
  3. Good job Org.
  4. Yesssss I'm getting them feelsssss I remember last year's first televised game. Snowing, and I had a meeting that I cancelled. Yes, to watch baseball at home alone.
  5. Why 100s? Like, of all the things.
  6. That whole week was a nut kick, capped off with Dickey getting totally shelled by the Sox. Was there even a high point at all in 2013? Probably that 11-game winner, but I was in Mexico at the time and got back only in time to see the last game (which I bought tickets and went to: blowout v. the O's)
  7. Opening Night 2013. I know there's a highlight reel somewhere.

  9. But does he actually want to be a Met for its own sake or does he just want the short leash contract with massive AAV? I'd speculate it was only the Mets who offered a deal this particular combo of expensive and flexible. Even if he does take all three years of it for whatever reason he's "young" enough that he could earn himself one more above-average medium length deal in 2019. Why negotiate a first-year opt-out into a contract if you don't intend to make use of it? Especially after what must have been a disappointment of an off-season during which no market seemed to develop until almost February.
  10. If he beasts and bails it will be pretty good for the team. Opt outs are getting pretty interesting as a signing strategy these days.
  11. Donaldson #1 hottest Jay. Don't let the purveyors of bad taste convince you otherwise. What a stallion.
  12. I was at Price's last regular season start in Toronto vs. the Rays. A liner went down the baseline fair and ended up kicking around the wall behind Smoak. Some ginger knuckle dragger just reaches over and plucks the fair ball off the field. Quickly escorted out he told security he didn't know that was illegal. He was in a Kawasaki jersey.
  13. How big is that FG miss at the half? It's only thing keeping Panther fans from full-on clench.
  14. I'm not old Anyway I'm going to finally watch a full game of football today. I only saw the first half of the Patriots game yesterday.
  15. Does f***ing Linkin Park even appeal to young ones today? That song is like 12 years old already. Comfortably Numb is a lot more timeless. The only thing timeless about Linkin Park is how much they blow. They made their music and then smashed their watches, forever blowing.
  16. I don't really follow casual venues for Jays news. Are people seriously down on the Jays? I know Price leaving is raw for some people, but what the hell else is so bad? The GM leaving, who scored two lucky months on the last year of his contract? I haven't been this up on them since... well, ever.
  17. This is the second in what now seems to be a series of threads of disappointing names in the blanks of "The Jays are in talks with _________". First Fernando Rodney, now Yovani Gallardo. Next up: "Blue Jays on the verge of acquiring Jeremy Guthrie"
  18. Hey, some of us still aren't comfortable using TurboTax on our own yet.
  19. I would too. I'm happy with the move. It's just that it turns LF into a bit of a question mark. Trade-offs.
  20. If Pompey struggles (possible) and The Condor needs more time to take flight (possible) then Ezequiel Carrera could end up with a not-insignificant number of ABs. This would be bad, yes.
  21. Excuse me while I kiss this guy.
  22. Question for the board: If the Storen-Revere swap had been done earlier in the offseason, would you still do the Chavez-Hendriks move? I know some don't like that move anyway, but I'm interested to hear from the ones that do. Having Hendriks would allow Sanchez and Osuna that much more leniency in stretching out in AAA. Big league SP depth would take a hit to start the season (or would it, with guys like Hernandez on MiL deals?). Basically, would you still make the Hendriks trade today even if you liked it in November?
  23. Hasn't Cliff Lee pretty much said he's going to kick back and not bother with a comeback attempt unless someone blows him away with an offer? Cliff Lee is a sexy name but the cash he probably wants to even start working out is probably too big a risk. I can't really blame Lee since I'd probably do the same thing.
  24. How do you live this down as a Bengals fan? Holy. Wow. wow
