  1. i wouldnt be shocked if the trade blows up in billy beane's face like every other deal he does nowadays. off the top of my head the only move i can think of that didnt absolutely suck balls was the one where he got billy burns.
  2. so ur saying the entire board itself is essentially pointless then? thats a real bummer man.
  3. the way this board undervalues ben revere is very disheartening. the way this board overvalues relievers is alarming. we just traded a rock solid 2 WAR position player with more control at less cost for a 1 WAR reliever. now our OF depth will be supremely tested. jose is what he is (aging elite bat with poor defense). i am skeptical about Pillar's offense due to his 'approach'. hes my favorite jay right now but hes not beyond reproach. over time hes more likely to get exposed than continue his smoke and mirrors act on offense unless he makes a real adjustment. it wont matter as much if hes playing stellar defense but i liked our OF when our biggest question mark was Pillar's bat. now we gotta worry about his bat, saunders knee, colabello's 'glove', and pompeys everything. a lot of question marks just got magnified in our OF. i am more comfortable piecing the bullpen together than the OF.
  4. so is RC getting a jays head shop & weed lounge or what? when trudeau legalizes it the dome should have the worlds largess hotbox.
  5. 1) Yankees are a bunch of grandpas 2) This ad... http://ecorecoscooter.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/ecoreco-hoponoff-2014.jpg
  6. this thread is gay. not that theres anything wrong with that. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4NiqCSqGZNQ/U-1Mrz2WCfI/AAAAAAAAMoQ/_G0mOXckew8/s1600/Screen_Shot_2013-06-07_at_12.33.20_PM.png
  7. I think its safe to assume that all of Obeso's vote(s) came from the big & tall crowd.
  8. dont see him sticking all season but i could see us buying him off the giants for pretty cheap if shapiro & co. like what they see.
  9. so thats why we never made a run at him
  10. Dang. Knew we weren't gonna keep him but I wanted him out of the AL East.
  11. replace the word thread with forum. i just dont like the dumb casuals spewing bologna.
  12. If so can I be first on Guadalupe Chavez? Gonna be interesting to see what happens considering there is no more dedicated minor league thread and the farm system has been stripped bare. Things were much easier for the uninitiated before. I dont expect much consensus outside of the 8-9 guys at all.
  13. i did 16 because i feel there is a big tier drop after that. i mean huge drop. 1) OF - Anthony Alford (TOR) 2) RHP - Sean Reid-Foley (TOR) 3) SS - Richard Urena (TOR) 4) OF - Vladimir Guerrero (TOR) 5) RHP - Jonathan Harris (TOR) 6) 1B - Rowdy Tellez (TOR) 7) C - Max Pentecost (TOR) 8) RHP - Conner Greene (TOR) 9) RHP - Clinton Hollon (TOR) 10) 3B - Mitch Nay (TOR) 11) OF - Dwight Smith (TOR) 12) RHP - Justin Maese (TOR) 13) OF - D.J. Davis (TOR) 14) C - Dan Jansen (TOR) 15) LHP - Shane Dawson (TOR) 16) RHP - Jose Espada (TOR) EDIT: Pentecost could be as high as #3 but I put him on the low end of his range intentionally. Greene is definitely gonna get some love as well but I wanted to be cautious with him also. I said there was a huge tier drop after #16, well there is also a huge drop from Greene to Hollon. The fact that Clint Hollon and Mitch Nay made the top 10 is kind of disappointing.
  14. right on. nice pulls guys. i dont mind that mindset for the most part. it feels like we havent had a real full rotation in ages. i'm so sick of seeing guys like Todd Redmond have important roles and eat up meaningful innings.
  15. You guys think they took a swing at Zimm but came up short, then moved on to Plan B? With the proximity of their signings it kinda makes me feel that way.
  16. nice find. beat me to it. as soon as i saw those i posted here right away. i should have known this board would have been clued in before. does buying 3 of each of these and not wearing them ironically make me a baseball hipster? i dont want it to but i think it does.
  17. Merry Christmas to all... http://freshbrewedtees.com/collections/all-ugly-christmas-sweatshirts/products/joey-bautista-ugly-christmas-sweatshirt http://freshbrewedtees.com/collections/all-ugly-christmas-sweatshirts/products/josh-donaldson-ugly-christmas-sweatshirt
  18. i love hendriks as much as most guys (except that stalker guy on twitter) but flipping a RP like this is always the way to go. i know people are worried about years of control but we wouldnt be able to get chavez if he had more than one year of control. chavez is also a much different pitcher than when he was here before. once he got that patented oakland cutter/changeup he became a legitimately useful pitcher. hendriks had a similar evolution once he bumped up his velocity in the pen. chavez is way more proven though and as a SP no less. and i feel hendriks evolution is only one way since its unlikely he throws that hard back in the rotation. for a guy whose success is married to the pen and when most relievers shelf life is so short (and volatile*) i am fine with viewing this as a sell high (which i do). lord knows i wish we sold high on tons of other RPs over the years but people get caught up in building through the bullpen sometimes. gonna miss hendriks a lot. guy was a boss. *must have read that word 1000 times in this thread*
  19. this made me laugh really hard. if somehow serious though i apologize for my reaction.

  21. I'm worried about his Day/Night splits. Could be something there.
  22. next time u watch rogers chart how many commercials are for products owned and supported solely by rogers. spotify, shomi (or whatever the other one is called), hockeycentral all dominate the commercial air time and that definitely closes out serious ad revenue. even if they do pay for the commercial slots its still just sweetheart a deal on paper for bookkeeping. now imagine if they sold those slots to actual outside advertisers like magic bullet, magic mop, magic mesh, or chop magic. revenue would surely jump substantially. but rogers does what it does anyways. they can skew the data anyway they want. its another way for them to cry poor when its time to pay up for players. they are a total dictatorship now, but hey have any of u seen the rogers statue?
