I don't like to assume the worst from allegations but don't assume nothing happened, clearly something did and if you're a GM you need to question his behaviour for future incidents.

    Is there a reason to think EE can't hit late in to his career like Ortiz has? I know he gets banged up but he still hits the cover off the ball and might continue to do that in his late 30s as an exclusive DH.

    Since they know EE would probably waive his 10/5 rule to go the Red Sox, I'd be tempted to extend him and flip him for x,y,z by the deadline.

    If the agent says "my client won't consider any offer under 200million", and you are not willing to commit that much, you don't waste dozens of hours of FO time putting it together. You move on to what can be accompliahed in the meantime unless something changes from their camp.

    "But this much is known: Toronto would have offered Price a contract." He went from sources say AA was preparing an offer to assume that means 100% they would have offered him a contract. That's a bunch of ********, if so an offer he would laugh at maybe... there's absolutely no way Rogers would have matched the Red Sox on that deal and there's no way Price wasn't hitting the market looking to maximize on his guaranteed return.
