  1. I honestly don't really see it. Coming into this year I think it looked a lot better than it will going into next year. Manoah, Tiedemann, Maroudis, Barriera are all hurt and likely to miss most of next season. The upper level guys that looked to be promising have either been hurt/terrible (Dallas, Cooke, Brock). So while they did add some talent almost all of the org. pitching prospects have had their value tank this season lol.
  2. Even Tatis age 22 season was pretty comparable to Witt this year and that shows you can get caught up in a player having an amazing year considering how his career has gone since. Witt has been fantastic but I see him as more of a 6 WAR player than an 8 Win player.
  3. Yeah he's actually done a great job in FA in getting value. The problem is its an expensive avenue to acquire players and they have been terrible in developing young talent. This year has really exposed how bad the org. pitching depth has been. The guys they are throwing out there have no business even being in the big leagues.
  4. This approach is fine in theory but unless the org. really starts developing young talent its going to be tough to compete for division titles in the AL East without any "stars". If you hold on to Valddy, Bassit, Gauseman etc.. in the hopes of winning 85 games next year I think that's a missed opportunity instead of maximizing their value and adding impact prospects. The path forward to 90+ wins in 2027 is a lot easier that way then losing Vladdy for nothing or trading him at the deadline as a rental. You can still sign some free agents in the offseason to make it look like they are competing so the product on the field isn't a complete trainwreck making it unwatchable for fans. But a half ass "re-tool" makes it harder to be a true contender later down the road IMO.
  5. What about all the players who come in as a freshman at a college program and are toolsy but unpolished? Aaron Judge wasn't a big time prospect out of high school. I want to say Dylan Crews wasn't either and then by the time he was 21 he's a top pick in the draft. You would think an MLB program/facility is better than college programs so why can't the Jays or a different MLB team unlock a guys potential? Its crazy to write off an 18 year old because of bad numbers in the first 2 months of a season. If a guy makes swing changes the results don't even matter that much, you just want to get game action/reps and see improvement in the long run.
  6. His numbers as a prospect were really good though so I wouldn't say his grade was overrated at the time, he was striking out less than 10% of the time as a 19 year old in AAA with above average power. His mechanics changed as a big leaguer even from 2021 till now, perhaps it was an injury that cause it but who knows.
  7. Not surprised on Turner, especially at his age. Goes to show you how good of a hitter he is despite father time catching up. I heard they are going to eventually have bat path/attack angle. I would have to think Varsho would have one of the most inefficient bath paths of anyone on the team, as he does have above average bat speed.
  8. Goes to show you why the team struggles so much against high velo... Can't be late on the fastball, yet guys like Springer and Varsho can't hit a fastball.
  9. Meh I wouldn't worry too much about it, he's as old as a lot of current high school players. He obviously has the tools otherwise he wouldn't have been drafted where he has. But the Jays are going to have to develop him (if there is anything to worry about it, might be that lol) since he's so raw
  10. Pretty cold outside I wouldn't bet on the ball carrying all that much.
  11. The Jays might become so bad/out of contention by the summer that we won't even have to go through the torture to watch this team!
  12. Bullpen was thought to be a pretty big strength coming into the season and its a f***ing disaster right now. Garcia has been great and everyone else has been either bad or a complete tire fire. Romano-was hurt and velo is there so not too worried about him Swanson- unplayable right now and should go on fake IL stint/DFA Mayza- Velo down and has been bad Green- Hurt and was bad Cabrera- Terrible command and results Pearson- has looked good at times but very inconsistent and the blowups have been horrible.
  13. These outfielders have to get better with their throwing decisions. Just fundamental mistake after fundamental mistake...
  14. I want the Jays to win more than anyone. I'm saying people who have clamored Atkins is a great GM and had a successful tenure are getting proved wrong. I care way more about the Jays success than other board members feelings lol.
  15. I mean this Blue Jays team just isn't a good team... Tons of mistakes all season, no accountability etc etc..
  16. Atkins seat getting hotter by the day...
  17. This bullpen honestly blows. Garcia has been good everyone else has been f***ing awful.
  18. I would have ran with Biggio and then PH IKF or Clement with Jansen. Jansen is one of the best hitters in the lineup.
  19. Slider looked really flat and saw a lot more 92s compared to 95s in the first couple of innings.
  20. Cabrera has been downright awful this season.
  21. The stuff seemed to get a lot worse after 75 pitches as well. Could be fatigue.
  22. Jays pitching has actually been pretty f***ing awful this season. Elephant in the room...
  23. Schneider makes some terrible throwing decisions in LF
