  1. Their defence has been terrible. Vladdy especially... Easy picks and terrible technique to boot.
  2. If you're an Astros fan you are so f***ing mad after that game lol. What a comedy of errors on their part.
  3. That was a crazy game lol. I don't even know what to say lol.
  4. Seems like there is no plan at the plate for a lot of these hitters. Lots of weak contact early in counts.
  5. Just no margin for error when the offence is performing like this. Sucks cuz Berrios has looked great.
  6. Turner is the only guy who has even made the pitcher work. He's looked good everyone else bleh
  7. He's not even worth food stamps.
  8. Alvarez is also a terrible LF and Jays could struggle to score runs so with 2 outs I don't mind it.
  9. Hope Bo is okay after that, can't be great for a sore neck lol. I don't mind the send.
  10. Didn't he make the ASG lol. But yeah he seems like he could be a 1.5-2 win player which is great value since he's getting paid nothing. His defense has looked fantastic so far. Kinda ironic cuz it feels like he' can provide what everyone is hoping IKF could become.
  11. I like Ernie but he's a good player because of the defense and he doesn't cost anything, not exactly an exciting hitter even though he makes a lot of contact. If he could cut down on chasing out of the zone I'd like him a lot more.
  12. Now that lineup actually looks decent. At least 1 through 6.
  13. Well anytime you get no-hit its going to create a lot of negative attention, especially getting blown out 10-0. If the team had lost 6-3 last night the blowback wouldn't be anywhere close. People just want to see positive/encouraging signs and there hasn't been much on the offensive side of the ball.
  14. The Jays only project to be like an 83 win team from FG though with less than 50% playoff odds. So I guess the question is are our expectations too high for this team?
  15. I know what you are saying but also to be fair there are "in game adjustments", which it looks like the Jays did none.
  16. Well yeah of course those guys at the top of the lineup were the driver. But I feel like in general the team just had more confidence/swagger back then, more mentally strong. Martin leading the team behind the plate was also a big part of those teams. The last 2 years it just seems like if the team gets down early, there are a lot of terrible PA where it looks like guys have no plan at the plate.
  17. He wasn’t even that good back then. In 2022 his xwOBA was actually less than last season. I think the reality is, he’s a very good defensive player and an average to slightly below average hitter. He also gets a lot of bunt hits and is really good at that. So when you need a big hit with runners on base and bunting isn’t an option he’s not really a guy you want up there.
  18. Worst part about the lineup is they get down 3-0 early and it feels like its its a 7 run lead. Last year was the same thing, its like their approach just goes through the window and mentally they are weak and give up. I remember those 15/16 teams and you just had the confidence at any time those guys could put up a 5 spot in an inning. Even before the big trades in 15 that team was "in" almost every game. Donaldson, Bautista, Martin just had that swagger/confidence/Prescence at the plate that I feel this team lacks.
  19. Sometimes when stress is high/competition becomes greater guys revert back to what they know, so we can see if he can carry those mechanical changes through the season. Because so far in the regular season the swings he's taken have looked a lot like last year, lots of whiffs up in the zone and pop ups. Obviously its only been a week but from a visual standpoint I haven't seen much improvement in the swing.
  20. I was hoping they would tweak Varso's swing in the offseason but it really doesn't look any different. Until he makes an adjustment to be able to hit the high fastball I think its going to be tough for him to become an above average hitter. He's got all the tools with the bat speed etc.. but his swing path is hideous.
  21. That GIF looks more true now.
  22. Also I'm not sure Rogers is going to continue to pay 200M a year in payroll if the team doesn't go on a playoff run/have a division contending team.
  23. I think another reason why the excitement is low is while there are a few interesting prospects most are of the reliever/low upside variety. Tiedemann is legit but there aren't any Bo/Vlad type impact prospects in the farm system. So reality is the roster is old and due for a makeover.
  24. The postitive is Francis at least looked like he could be a number 5, homers aside. The stuff was actually pretty good and it seemed like the Astros capitalized on every mistake which not every team is going to do. Offence on the other hand...welp. Looks bad on paper, looks bad in action both in results and process.
  25. Its not actual rock bottom, just feels like it with a loss like that. Mood around the team is def super low.
