  1. lol yeah with a middle infield of Goins and Kawasaki. Thats going to be real fun to watch.
  2. Absolutely not. Contracts aside that trade makes the Blue Jays a worse team. You upgrade 1.5 wins in the rotation only to lose 3 Wins at SS. Lets stop these Tulo trade proposals, he's not going anywhere.
  3. No matter who the backup catcher is going to be, the Jays would have a massive downgrade if Martin got hurt.
  4. Yeah I guess there was a glitch in the system because I logged back on the next day and it was in CAD. I wouldn't suggest buying single game tickets through the seat map online. If you do it through your ticket rep you save the ticket fees instead of paying full price. I think they save certain sections for SSTH and FPH too so what you see on the map isn't necessarily the only tickets left.
  5. There's still Federal income tax. Its not like these guys don't get taxed at all lol.
  6. Wonder if Shapiro and the FO has talked contract extensions with any of the players yet. Donaldson and Bautista have said they wanted to finish their careers here and Stroman retweeted an article mentioning him as a target for young players to be extended for what its worth. The longer they wait the more expensive its going to be.
  7. Harper might even get close to 50. I could see him getting 500 Million as crazy as that sounds.
  8. Yeah exactly. Jays should be proactive and try to get Stroman signed as well. I'm sure Stroman would love to sign an extension in Toronto.
  9. Would of liked the Jays to sign Donaldson long term by now. I'm sure his price has gone up with all of these signings in FA.
  10. Lmao Jim Bowden got played again. Wonder if he will delete his Twitter account this time.
  11. Apparently there is deffered payments so its less in present value which could explain the 2 different numbers reported.
  12. How much is Greinke's bat projected to be worth? I don't even think Arizona would of taken that into consideration but it probably adds some value. Wonder if Price thinks he could of got more $ now.
  13. I think I'm gonna try to go watch the games vs the Dbacks this year. Even if they are mid week games it'll be cool to see Goldy live and Greinke if he pitches.
  14. Around 195 Million
  15. If Arizona didn't have Dave Stewart as their GM I think people would really like the franchise. Just when you hear Stewart making stupid comments, no one has confidence he could build a contender.
  16. Yeah thats crazy.
  17. If you don't take into account the knuckleball I would think Kratz is a bit better. The platoon difference might make Thole more attractive considering how RH heavy the Jays lineup is but we are splitting hairs about a player that hopefully sees less than 40 games.
  18. Is Kratz a good target considering he's 35 now? I'd be fine with a minor league deal but I'm not sure he'd want to do that.
  19. in your wet dreams.
  20. Damn thats a nice deal. Wonder if he didn't want to come to the Jays since its in Canada. I would of given him 38 maybe 40 million
  21. Stop nitpicking.
  22. But when you look at all the factors I just don't see a backup catcher out there that makes it worthwhile when you look at all the factors. -Dickey is better with Thole behind the plate than Martin as Thole is the better framer for the knuckleball -Martin is better offensively on days he isn't catching Dickey even if it was a small sample its really all we have to go by -Higher chance Martin gets hurt/banged up catching Dickey When you weigh all those factors is there a backup catcher out there that is worth it? You said you want Martin catching as much as possible anyways so you don't really need a good backup catcher. I'd rather spend an extra 1-2 million on a bullpen arm but thats my opinion.
  23. Risking an $82 million investment for a 3 run upgrade doesn't seem smart either. I found the article and Martin hit like Josh Thole while catching Dickey. Normally I'd say the sample means nothing but when the performance is so different I think we can say there is something there. Russ even acknowledged how tough it was catching Dickey. http://capitaljays.com/2015/11/04/the-knuckleball-effect-on-russell-martin/
  24. Its not just about Martin's performance while catching Dickey though, you have to weigh the extra injury risk of him catching Dickey. Martin said he jammed his thumb a couple times since he can't catch the ball on the sweet spot like a conventional pitcher. I'd rather use Thole and give Martin the best chance of being healthy/productive than get a backup catcher who might add an extra 3-4 runs over the course of the season. I think there is too much risk letting Martin catch Dickey 30 times, personally.
  25. He's really good IIRC. Top 15 I want to say but I could be wrong.
