    I think if Zobrist left significant money on the table we would of heard it by now. I always wondered how much sponsorship money Bautista gets from his partnerships with the likes of Booster Juice and Pizza Pizza etc.. If the team attracts a TV audience of a million/game you would think that the franchise players could make good money with these partnerships. And seeing how the Blue Jays are a national brand there would be a massive market that a lot of MLB teams don't really have.

    Lol if the Dbacks gave up this for 3 years of Miller imagine what they would have given up for 5 years of Stroman. Probably could have got Corbin instead of Blair.

    I still think it would cost 4/80 for Bautista. Victor Martinez got in the high 60s last year as a 1B/DH. Nonetheless Zobrist signing for that much helps but its not like Bautista's market will drop a ton because of it.

    Yeah this seems like reality unless Rogers increases the payroll to like 180 Million or something. I mean if you sign Bautista you would have roughly 113 Million tied up in 8 players. The Major holes to fill would be at least 1 SP, LF, DH, 1B and the entire bullpen. Tulo 20 Million Martin 20 Million Bautista 20 Million Donaldson 16 Million Estrada 14.5 Million Happ 13 Million Hutchison 6 Million Stroman 4 Million

    Sounds like Rogers wanted a lower budget but Shapiro had to convince them to even get it to the level it is at now. Looking at the salaries in 2017 and beyond 2016 looks to their best chance to Win the next few years.

    As long as he's only facing LHP. He's terrible pitching from the right side. Not a bad 7th/8th reliever to have.

    Devon Travis too. Although the entire service time system could be overhauled in the next CBA to get rid of players spending 3 weeks in the minors.
