  1. Nope. We will see deck chairs shuffled, but no selling.
  2. Gord Ash left Halladay, Carpenter, Escobar, Delgado, Wells, Rios, Hudson, Werth, etc, Bad GM's make good moves. Unfortunately, if the bad is strong enough, it can outweigh the good. That's where AA stands. His last off-season was very good (Donaldson, Martin, Travis, Saunders) but it was outweighed by bad roster construction and keeping a manager that can't tell the difference between his best players and his worst.
  3. After all the s*** he did in the off-season, I think he'd fall for Reyes. If not now, then in the off-season. Big name, stolen bases, previous all star, and all that. Preller is our only hope to get out of Reyes' deal. He's one of the few (only?) GM's left willing to pay for name value and ignore defensive metrics. Although I get the feeling we might be too late. Should have shopped Reyes to the Padres in December.
  4. I wonder if the Padres would do Reyes for Shields. Might need to add a prospect on our end but it is AJ Preller.
  5. I think 85 wins is the top end for this team, and even expecting them to go 35-27 is not an easy task. Just have to hope for one more massive win streak and then play .500 after that.
  6. The Twins are the only reason I still have hope for this season. They are very beatable. Just have to catch them and hope no team around us (Detroit, Tampa, Baltimore) catches fire. Then again, if the Jays make the Wild Card game, they could argue to keep AA and Gibbons. Tough call.
  7. Travis didn't need a day off. Gibbons, the imbecile, saw the short sample of success Goins had against Walker and wet himself with excitement knowing he could finally play his boy. Resting one of the best hitters on your team this season to play a below replacement level player unnecessarily is just another perk of being a Jays fan with Gibby as manager.
  8. Put Pompey in left, Norris or Boyd in the rotation, and whatever happens from there happens. Don't trade for any reinforcements if it costs any meaningful prospect. Alex and Gibbons are s***. Don't let them leave any sort of stench in the organization once they are gone.
  9. He managed a team with the best pitching in baseball and a 90+ Pythag and fired at below .500. Now he's managing a team with the most runs scored and best run differential (or close to it) in baseball and is .500. Nepotism has hurt a perfectly good chance of making the playoffs this year.
  10. I want someone in the Toronto media to grow a pair and ask Gibbons why Travis was benched today. Inexcusable if he was healthy and benched for a negative WAR player when there's a day off tomorrow.
  11. 0.9 WAR/2.28 FIP in 42 innings = long man. Gibbons is an advanced stats guy, obviously. Knows platoons, and splits, and stuff.
  12. Loup should be a lefty specialist or loogy. He's being used incorrectly. Shocking I know, given Gibby's history of using talent properly, but that's reality.
  13. Cecil and Hendriks in the pen chilling, too. 2015 can't end soon enough.
  14. Welcome aboard. You'll get accused of not knowing baseball when you question things like bringing in your 7th reliever in a tie game in the 9th, or giving your 24-year old 2B a day off when there is a team off day the following day, and so on, but it's for the greater good.
  15. Why not Loup to face Seager, walk Cruz regardless, and then Loup vs. Cano? WTF??
  16. Starting Goins and then Tepera in the 9th pretty much sums this game up. Managers make a f***ing difference.
  17. Tepera in. I defy anyone to defend Gibbons here.
  18. If Goins bats in this inning, Gibbons can f*** off.
  19. Yep. That will be Gibby's "three headed monster" from now on.
  20. If the Jays still have the lead by then, Sanchez will pitch the 8th.
