  1. Teams adding talent at the deadline don't get comp picks. The player has to be on the team the entire season. Price is a straight up rental. We will lose him for literally nothing. Please re-sign him, Rogers. 7/210. We will regret it in a few years but we will regret it more when he leaves for nothing.
  2. I would have liked this trade....well, at least understood this trade....if the Jays were either closer to the division or leading it. Getting Price for what looks like a one game playoff is insane. They might not even be able to use him in the WC game if they need him just to get in (like if he has to start to final game of the year to get in), and even if he does start the game, there's no guarantee he wins. There's also a chance they don't even make the WC game. If they make an improbable comeback to overtake the Yankees, then I might change my view, but I think this was very short sighted, and this coming from someone who thinks Norris is overrated. Sign Price long term after the season, and that changes everything. Hire Drake as ambassador if need be.
  3. Surely the team can trade Colabello for a reliever better than Tepera, right? Make that deal and call up Pompey. Problem solved. Pompey everyday in left, Valencia plays first in a platoon with Smoak, and Carrera can make stupid decisions as a fourth OF.
  4. Jays 4 games back of the 1st WC and still 2 games back of the 2nd. If they can't win the division, then aim for the 1st WC. Get homefield in that game, at least.
  5. Phew. Tigers win. Nice.
  6. I want the Jays to make a serious playoff run this year if only to stop the organization from throwing 92-93 in our faces every time they want to distract from the current product. "The current team sucks, but come join us for Kelly Gruber Day at the stadium!". Make us forget 92/93, please. At least for the time being.
  7. Come on Detroit. One more f***ing inning. Don't blow this.
  8. What are you talking about? I'm saying if the Jays are giving up that much there better be an extension involved. Has nothing to do with the Tigers.
  9. God if the Jays trade something like Norris and Alford for Price, then there better be a damn extension involved. That's insane for a two month rental.
  10. This can't end well, if it happens.
  11. Norris has regressed badly in AAA. He still has potential but you can't seriously pencil him in for 2016 until you see the results change. Boyd is a fringe starter or reliever depending on who you ask. Sanchez is likely a reliever long-term, and his JPA level ignorance when it comes to his walk rate tells me he may not change his approach regardless. Osuna will hit his career high as a pro in innings pitched and that will come as a reliever. He will probably need to be on a pretty strict innings limit next season if they stretch him out. None of those guys are where Stroman was prior to 2014 and none of them should be counted on to fill rotation spots in 2016. Maybe mid-season 2016 for Norris if his numbers improve but not to start the season. If the Jays want to compete next season, then they either need three starters or two starters + bring Dickey back. Repeating the same crap they did in the beginning of this year by starting 10 rookies on the team won't fly.
  12. They won't trade Edwin for a rental.
  13. Do you want me to explain why Norris, Boyd, Sanchez, Osuna, etc, are not realistic rotation options for 2016 or can you actually figure it out yourself? I'm not expecting you to, but thought I'd ask just to be nice.
  14. He's a rental (Gallardo). Don't give up Pompey, Alford, or Norris for him.
  15. If Dickey keeps pitching well then the Jays would have to pick up his option. Who else do they have for next year's rotation aside from Stro and Hutch?
  16. Carrasco or bust. Don't give up, AA.
  17. The Yankees actually lost a game. Shocking. Cut the lead to 5 before the Yankee Stadium series. Make it mean something. It's at 7 now.
  18. His last three big moves were Donaldson, Martin, and Tulo. Going by that trend, it will be King Felix.
  19. I hope if Alex does something, he doesn't do it at 12:30 am like last time. I want to get some sleep.
  20. The Orioles are on the verge of overtaking the Twins for the 2WC soon enough, so hope they don't upgrade at the deadline.
  21. Norris and Pompey/Alford, probably. Not worth it for two months.
  22. The Jays have one more big winning streak in them. Come on guys. Don't mess up this chance.
  23. I believe Gibbons said the pecking order in a close game is Hawkins-Sanchez-Osuna, so Bo's spot just got taken.
