  1. Yeah he had a good finish to the season in Texas. Get him on a 1 or 2 year deal at a higher AAV and I think it's a better option. But if he's getting long term deals elsewhere, then pass.
  2. Yeah I don't think anything has changed. A four year deal takes him through age 37, and he will likely decline well before that. They will probably make an offer that makes sense for the team (something along the lines of what Cespedes got minus the player opt out) but I don't think they will be making any sentimental moves that don't make long term sense. I think Jose's poor season (by his standards) makes him more realistic for this front office than Edwin. But if you want to give less years and higher AAV to minimize risk, then someone like Carlos Gomez makes sense. Maybe a trade for Puig. There are options out there.
  3. Stro, Estrada, Happ, Sanchez. That's my guess on what actually happens. Works out so that Sanchez only pitches once, which limits his innings.
  4. Not true, if the Indians win tonight, they'll have one fewer day of rest, which means they'll be more focused and less rusty. /narrative
  5. Bannister is just as much a ******** as Odor, if not worse.
  6. Barney had a 1.5 WAR as a utility infielder. He should be and will be tendered. Man, was that two week stint in the pen in 2014 the reason for Stro being a Super 2? Ugh. Alex gon Alex.
  7. Then Boston. Beating those guys would be damn good.
  8. Has Rogers ever meddled with the Jays? Godfrey did based on things I've read but it appears AA had free reign under Beeston and I don't see why it would be any different with Shapiro and Atkins. I don't think Rogers will force them to do anything as far as Bautista and Edwin. It will come down to whether the front office can sign them to deals they are comfortable with. If they can't, then both will be gone and the FO will find replacements. Anything beyond two years for either player would be a mistake imo. Team needs to get younger and more upside. You don't pay big money for a player's decline.
  9. If both agree two year deals, then I'd give both high AAV's and be ok with it. But Edwin's going to want more years than that. Bautista might take two if his market is down but I'm not sure it will be.
  10. Cleveland to avenge the loss to LeBron. Plus, I wouldn't feel like s*** if the Jays lost to the Indians. With Boston, I would.
  11. Best thread title of the year.
  12. Let's lose the next 2 games so that the series can go back to Texas for a one game coin flip just so in case the Jays advance they can stay sharp for the next series? Yeah, no thanks. You can't control when the games are played. Just go out there and win.
  13. Man, if the ALCS ends up being Shapiro's old team against Shapiro's new team, I wonder what all the internet trolls on social media who spent all winter trashing his name will do. A lot of panic.
  14. Why didn't he just keep Biagini in?
  15. Gibby's going to use Osuna in 4 run game isn't he (if the lead holds up)?
  16. 83 pitches. Happ will stay in until he reaches 100.
  17. Happ will pitch one more inning so he can get a win. If he gives up the lead, then he won't be in line for a W, so then Gibbers can safely take him out. Gibby logic.
  18. Yeah, Rangers were up 2-0 last year and blew it. Let's not get carried away yet. One game at a time.
  19. Man great to see the bats waking up. Been a while since they had a laugher.
  20. Yeah either they will not use Tepera, which makes his presence pointless, or they will use him and it might hurt the team on the field. No point having Tepera over Pompey, even with the uncertainty with Osuna.
  21. It's a gift and a curse. The rowdiness of the Toronto fans is both great to watch and might get in the other team's head. The curse being that there are a bunch of morons in that group.
  22. Sanchez is probably going to pitch in one game per series to limit his innings. Shapiro was adamant that he was not going to throw 220-230 innings, so if the Jays win, it will have to be primarily behind Happ, Estrada, and Stro.
  23. The O's have made the playoffs in 3 of the last 5 years with a roster that looks mediocre as hell practically every year. Buck was s*** last night but I could understand why they keep him around.
  24. Holy s*** do the Jays play some exciting playoff games. I love it. Part 1 of the sweetest run to the World Series ever is complete. Part 1: Beat Baltimore Part 2: Beat Texas Part 3: Beat Boston Let's do this.
