  1. Cleveland doesn't need pitching. They can develop SP's in their sleep. I'm sure they'll focus on position players as the main pieces in return for Clevinger/Plesac.
  2. I noticed Lewis' numbers as well. BABIP is crazy high so that will obviously drop, but he's doing a lot of other things that suggest he's still going to be a good hitter once that normalizes. That's why you don't easily give up on first round talent, I guess.
  3. Hernandez has a 1.1 WAR, an average exit velo of near 95 mph, and his statcast numbers are practically all in the 90-99 percentile except for whiffs/K's. Not sure I'd move him or Gurriel with OF being an organizational weakness from top to bottom. Of course if the return is right, then you make a move, but I find it hard to believe that type of move is out there right now.
  4. It's not truly the trade deadline until Trollosi makes a completely baseless rumor just so he could hashtag #bluejays for clicks.
  5. Without a minor league season, my guess is all the trades that happen (that aren't salary dumps or for PTBNL/cash) will involve 40 man roster players from both sides. So, McKinney is probably a realistic trade candidate. We are dealing with players with like 30 games of control left. The Jays should be able to upgrade the roster without losing much.
  6. La Stella would be a great pickup, and shouldn't be expensive to acquire since he's a FA in a month.
  7. A series split is a great result for the Jays at the Trop. No more games against the Rays the rest of the year! Now let's pad this record against Boston and Baltimore.
  8. I hope Fisher comes back tomorrow in case Grichuk is out for a while. Panik at 2B and Biggio in RF is going to be Montoyo's wet dream lineup, so gotta prevent that.
  9. Dolis is fine as a RP, but everyone looks worse playing in Satan's Stadium. I'm not even confident that Romano can hold a one run lead in this shithole, that's how conditioned I am to expect the worse. Tack on some runs here.
  10. Why is Grichuk out of the game?
  11. This was the most Roark start ever. Looked bad, but 5 IP/3 ER. Team still in the game. That's what he does. He won't be great, but he'll somehow get through 5 innings most starts.
  12. Wow, that's the first time I've ever seen a Rays OF miss a hard hit from a Jays hitter.
  13. I don't know if it's funny or sad that everyone from Siddal to Jomboy mock Montoyo. It's like everyone knows he sucks except the person that hired him.
  14. Yeah if Panik is playing against a LHP instead Drury, then there's no point having either one on the roster. I hope Atkins is actually trying to upgrade this part of the roster, and isn't content with those two clogging up roster spots. I don't care if Drury is released and becomes Urshela 2.0. It won't happen here, so who cares?
  15. There's no player less exciting in baseball than a fat 1B. People at least expect Vlad to hit like a MVP candidate someday, so you can live with that, but that's the outlier, not the norm. Players like Tellez and Vogelbach are hard to get excited about. If they hit, then great, but they have to hit consistently year to year because they literally provide nothing else.
  16. Where is TJ Zoinks? Haven't heard his name at all since Summer Camp started up. Not a huge fan of his, but he had moderate success in the bigs last season and he's on the 40 man. But yeah at this point bring up Murphy and see what he could do.
  17. It would be the most Blue Jays thing ever to get the 8th seed and have to face the Rays in the first round. At least it sounds like there will be a bubble, so no Trop.
  18. It’s Jim Bowden. Probably better off not reading it.
  19. Playing the Rays 10 times and 7 at the Trop is Manfred playing a cruel trick on us. I would have been happy with a split. Now 1-3 is probably the outcome. Move them to Nashville already.
  20. Explains why Shoe was pulled so quickly in the last start. Definitely need to add a SP now with Pearson and Shoe out.
  21. Man, looking at teams 9-15, if the Jays don’t make the playoffs, that would be almost embarrassing.
  22. Galvis and Flores to replace Panik and Drury, and then have Fisher/Davis as the outfielders off the bench, and this team would be pretty solid offensively. Right now the bench sucks and has limited platoon options. That needs to change. I still can't believe they signed Shaw, but were perfectly content with Panik/Drury as the backups.
  23. This is 100% on the bats. I guess they were due a stinker after a hot week.
  24. If Bass gets out of this, I'd be shocked.
  25. Agreed. This team needs at least two bench players who can hit RHP.
