  1. Unless it's a HR, the Rays outfield will always catch everything.
  2. Meadows, Lowe, and Diaz against Cole. Can't see anything bad happening.
  3. Montoyo was the old man at work who has been around forever that no one had the heart to fire. I refuse to believe he actually contributed to the Rays success in any way other than picking up dry cleaning.
  4. Espinal is going to bunt out, isn't he?
  5. Great job by Dolis. Montoyo is still a dick. Three more innings with 2 high leverage arms down already. Ugh.
  6. He'll probably be pulled after 3 innings once he reaches 57 pitches. Can't face the lineup twice.
  7. Pen is going to be exhausted, and probably not even going to win at this point. Montoyo is so f***ing bad.
  8. Why was Shoemaker taken out at 74 pitches?
  9. If Teoscar's walking and hitting everything 95+ mph.........
  10. That was a stupid play by Gurriel, but I thought he beat it with that slide. Damn. In this stadium that run is important.
  11. They better not overturn this. We need as many runs as possible in this shithole.
  12. Wow, what a slide by Gurriel.
  13. Biggio's eye is unreal.
  14. Keep doing that Vladdy
  15. Agreed. Rays scored a run, but if they were smart and put the catcher Perez at the 2 spot, it would have given Lowe a chance to do damage later. Cash doesn't know better.
  16. Lineup working just as planned so far. 4D chess.
  17. The Rays announcers just called this the “George Constanza” lineup when talking about Biggio batting 8th.
  18. I doubt any big names or even medium sized names are going to be moved. With no minor league season it will be tough to determine which prospects to trade or trade for. My guess is we will see salary dumps or trash for slightly better trash trades mostly.
  19. Biggio has hit .417 in 12 PA against Yarbrough, and Jansen .000 (6 PA). I figured maybe Buntoyo was using a small sample of H2H numbers to justify this, but that actually makes the move look worse (which is tough to do). "Turn the lineup over" isn't a thing, Charlie. It never was a thing. No one bats one of their best hitters, if not their best hitter with Bo out, 8th. No other f'n team in baseball would do this, in any era.
  20. Tonight's lineup (not a typo): 1. Gurriel 2. Grichuk 3. JANSEN 4. Hernandez 5. Vlad 6. Shaw 7. Drury 8. BIGGIO 9. Espinal Montoyo might be the worst manager in the history of sports, nevermind just the Jays franchise or MLB. Every team sport ever played.
  21. Huge trade.
  22. He seems to have a SP repertoire, but he'll be 29 in September and hasn't had a SP workload since 2017 due to injury. If the 2021 season is the full 162 games, then they might keep him as a SP just because depth is going to play a much bigger factor in a full season than it will in a 60 game season, but my guess is that his future role is in the pen. This is the fruits of accumulating so much SP depth on the 40 man roster. Most will not be big league starters, but you might be able to hit on a couple, and the rest could work out of the pen if their stuff plays up in that role.
  23. ....unless the Yankees get him. Definitely wishing all the best to Alford. Seems like a good guy and easy to root for. Hopefully he goes to a team that gives him a chance to play.
