    Can this game be called if the Jays are leading in the bottom of the 5th? Not sure what the rules are during this season.

    They should have started this game a couple of hours ago. Not sure why they can't pivot based on weather during a pandemic shortened season. I get the networks want the game at a certain time, but this is the year to be a little flexible.

    Atkins took a huge gamble with that trade, along with a PR hit, but the way Merryweather has looked so far, there is real potential there if his arm holds up.

    Shaw looks really bad this season. The all Fatty lineup with Vlad at 3B might not be that bad if Shaw keeps this up.

    Merryweather throwing 98 and then a 80 mph change. Damn I hope he can stay healthy as a SP.

    I would imagine any MLB boycott lasts today and maybe tomorrow, but not beyond that. The NBA is different because they are in a bubble, and there is talk of some players wanting to go home.

    Aug 20: 22 pitches Aug 22: 32 pitches I would guess maybe 45ish. If his arm holds up, I hope they keep him in the rotation. He might be a better reliever long term, but with all the injuries, let's see what he's got in a starting role. As many innings as possible from him, Kay, and Hatch for the rest of the season is ideal.

    My issue was keeping him in to face the guy that killed him all game (Moreland) and then removing him immediately after that. Could have just started the inning with Font if that was the case. Otherwise should have kept him in to face at least another batter or two.

    I can understand the TV networks wanting night games, but man, just adjust the schedule for weather every once in a while to cram the games in.

    True but 100 mph with a SP workload is a heightened one. Obviously mechanics, delivery, etc, factor in. That’s why I see manipulating a pitcher’s service time to be ridiculous. The 7 day delay for Pearson was a no brainer in a 60 game season but in a normal circumstance, just bring the pitcher up when he looks ready.

    Anyone who throws 100 mph is a perpetual injury risk. Hopefully, Pearson only has to miss this season and not anything beyond. Would have loved to seen Ryu/Pearson in a three game series but 2020 isn’t a serious contending season for this squad so no sense rushing him back for this year.

    The White Sox are beating up on a s***** Central right now but I think they are going to be legit even in a full season. Fun team to watch too, especially their bats.

    On the bright side, the Jays might be able to get through this game without using a good RP. They needed a game where the pen was rested. Obviously a blowout win would be better, but the Jays don't get to have those this year.

    Drury has a 58 wRC+ and .210/.255/.356 line in 521 plate appearances as a Blue Jay. Not counting the 0-4 with 2 K's tonight.

    Counting on Drury to get a hit is such a helpless feeling.

    The Jays have nothing to sell, and every team behind them in the standings is ass. Atkins has no choice but to add at this point. It's either that or stand pat, but incremental improvements for a month shouldn't cost much.

    Called strike 3 was probably correct, but called strike 1 was ridiculous.
